What should I look for when buying a used Audi A3?

Across all model years, at 74.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Audi Pre Sense Front, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a vehicle exit warning system, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring.
• Infotainment: a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated at 28 mpg combined, with a result of 28.4 mpg on the Southern California evaluation loop.

Which Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Audi A3 offers these trims:

• A3 Premium: the entry point with the standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, Quattro AWD, and the core premium cabin and tech setup.
• A3 Premium Plus: the best-value trim for many shoppers, adding the Sonos premium sound system, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, Adaptive Cruise Assist, Lane Guidance, and hands-on detection.
• S3: the performance step-up with 328 horsepower and a quicker zero-to-60 mph sprint.
• RS 3: the top performance model with a 394-hp 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine and 3.6-second zero-to-60 mph acceleration.

What Audi A3 do most buyers choose?

The Audi A3 years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Higher-volume years usually give you more shopping choice, more price competition, and a better chance of finding the right trim and condition. That combination tends to make them the most popular used picks.

What is the Audi A3's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because prices have generally softened. One model year is still rising, while a few others are falling by double digits, showing that the market is moving unevenly across the lineup. The 2023, 2018, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• 2015: 8/10
