New & Used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE for Sale nearSaint Paul, MN

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It’s a luxury SUV that leans into comfort, technology, and breadth of choice rather than flash, and the 2027 refresh adds a new engine range, new exterior lighting and grille treatment, and a standard MBUX Superscreen with three 12.3-inch displays. Mercedes also adds MB.Drive Assist Pro, bringing hands-on Level 2 driver assistance. That makes the GLE feel current while keeping its conservative, family-focused character intact.

The main trade-offs are that the most powerful versions are expensive, and the GLE remains more comfort-oriented than sporty. The expert verdict also notes that the changes are more significant on paper than they are in practice.

Good and great deals account for 30.9% of listings, so you have a moderate amount of market leverage.

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is presented as a familiar luxury SUV formula with updated powertrains and technology, which suggests a model that should feel broadly predictable in daily use. The expert review emphasizes smooth power delivery, a cushioned ride, and a well-established Mercedes approach to comfort and equipment.

The performance notes also point to a nine-speed automatic, standard 4Matic all-wheel drive, and mild-hybrid assistance on the core gas engines, all of which support a polished driving experience. Mercedes says the base turbo-four uses an electric compressor to help reduce lag, and the larger engines were revised for 2027 to improve responsiveness.

Mercedes also says the GLE’s Pre-Safe system can close windows and tighten seatbelts to help reduce injury risk in a crash, which adds to the sense of thoughtful engineering. For plug-in-hybrid buyers, Mercedes says the GLE 500e can DC fast charge from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is less about outright mechanical drama and more about owning a complex, high-end SUV whose upkeep can become costly as equipment and powertrain sophistication increase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-spec or more complex versions. Focus on how the electronics, driver-assistance features, suspension, and powertrain behave in real-world use, since this is a technology-heavy luxury SUV. If you’re shopping a plug-in hybrid or a V8 model, pay extra attention to charging behavior, drivability, and overall condition.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Entry-level models use MB-Tex artificial leather and a lot of grained plastic, while higher trims can add wood trim, real leather upholstery, and the Manufaktur Interior Package with more vibrant upholstery colors.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 255-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a 375-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, a 530-horsepower twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, and plug-in-hybrid options with 429 horsepower or 577 horsepower.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a stop light, traffic-sign and speed-limit recognition, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
• Infotainment: The standard Superscreen uses three 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are retained, and the system runs Mercedes’ MB.OS software with an AI-enhanced voice assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four is rated at 23 mpg combined and the turbo-six at 21 mpg combined. The plug-in hybrid also supports DC fast charging, with a 10% to 80% charge in 29 minutes.

Which 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 5 trim levels: GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, GLE 500e 4Matic, GLE 580 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350 4Matic: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core GLE experience with the standard turbo-four, standard all-wheel drive, and the broad list of comfort and tech features that make the SUV feel well equipped from the start. It’s the value play if you want the least expensive way into the lineup.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the stronger turbo-six and still stays below the plug-in and V8 models in price. If you want the most balanced mix of performance and cost, this is the one to target.
• GLE 500e 4Matic: Choose this if you want plug-in-hybrid capability and the added electric driving flexibility that comes with it. It’s the right fit if you value efficiency and charging capability more than outright simplicity.
• GLE 580 4Matic: This is the choice for buyers who want the V8 and the most relaxed, special-feeling powertrain in the lineup. It’s also the trim that pushes the GLE deepest into true luxury territory when equipped with the right options.
• AMG GLE 53 Hybrid: Pick this if you want the most performance-focused plug-in-hybrid version, with AMG-specific transmission, AWD, suspension, and brakes. It suits buyers who want the sharpest chassis tuning in the range.

The standard safety package is broad, but Mercedes says additional features may become available later pending regulatory approval.
