New & Used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE for Sale nearAsheville, NC

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Mercedes positions this refresh as a major update with new styling, updated tech, and upgraded powertrains, and the GLE still fits the core of the brand’s U.S. SUV lineup. In practice, its strongest appeal is the combination of comfort and easy-to-use technology, and well-equipped versions are described as delivering a genuinely luxurious driving experience.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the design may be polarizing, and the steering and suspension are called lazy. The price is also high, so the refresh looks more dramatic on paper than it may feel behind the wheel.

Good and great deals account for 34.2% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is presented as a familiar luxury crossover formula with a broad range of powertrains and a major refresh rather than a clean-sheet redesign. That matters because the model’s core mission remains comfort, technology, and upscale breadth, not radical mechanical change.

Mercedes says the turbocharged engines were tweaked for 2027, including changes aimed at improving responsiveness and reducing emissions. The base turbo-four also gets an electric compressor to help reduce lag, and the mild-hybrid setup supports the engine start/stop system more effectively. The plug-in hybrid also adds DC fast charging, which can complete a 10-80% charge in 29 minutes according to Mercedes.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still a complex, high-priced luxury SUV, so upkeep and repair exposure can be significant if you buy a poorly maintained example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong clean-inventory rate, you should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment on the specific vehicle matches what you want, since the GLE’s appeal depends heavily on trim and option content.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Entry-level models use MB-Tex artificial leather and a lot of grained plastic, while higher trims can add wood trim, real leather upholstery, and the Manufaktur Interior Package with more vibrant color options.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 hp and 413 lb-ft, and a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 530 hp and 553 lb-ft. Mild-hybrid assistance is standard on those engines, and the plug-in hybrid uses an inline-six with 429 hp and 502 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a stop light, traffic-sign and speed-limit recognition, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Parking assist and a surround-view camera with a transparent hood view are available, and some features may arrive later pending regulatory approval.
• Infotainment: The Superscreen uses three 12.3-inch displays, including a driver display, central touchscreen, and front-passenger screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are retained, and the system runs Mercedes’ MB.OS software with an AI-enhanced voice assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four is rated at 23 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway), and the turbo-six is rated at 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway). The plug-in hybrid also supports DC fast charging.

Which 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 6 trim levels: GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, GLE 580 4Matic, GLE 500e 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 Hybrid, AMG GLE 63 S.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350 4Matic: This is the entry point, and it gives you the refreshed GLE experience at the lowest starting price. It’s the best-value choice if you want the new styling, standard all-wheel drive, and the core tech without stretching into pricier powertrains.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it adds the turbo-six’s stronger output and still stays below the V8 and plug-in hybrid models. If you want the most balanced mix of performance and price, this is the one to focus on.
• GLE 580 4Matic: Choose this if you want the V8 and the most relaxed, special-feeling luxury driving experience in the non-AMG lineup. It’s the most expensive conventional GLE and makes the most sense if you care more about power and refinement than value.
• GLE 500e 4Matic: This is the plug-in hybrid choice, and it’s the one to consider if you want electrified driving capability plus DC fast charging. It suits buyers who can take advantage of charging and want a more modern powertrain mix.
• AMG GLE 53 Hybrid: This is the performance-oriented plug-in hybrid, with more power and AMG-specific chassis hardware. It’s for buyers who want the quickest-feeling electrified GLE and are willing to pay for it.
• AMG GLE 63 S: This is the top performance model, with the most power and the most aggressive hardware in the lineup. It’s the right pick only if you want the flagship AMG experience and are comfortable with the price.

Mercedes says the standard driver-assistance suite includes lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a stop light, traffic-sign and speed-limit recognition, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
