Is the 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid a good car?

The 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid earns a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

With 37.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent number of value opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid reliable?

The 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid is built around revised hybrid powertrains that Lexus says are tuned to cut down on unwanted noise and vibration. The updated setup is described as seamless and undetectable in the handoff between electric motor and gas engine, with effortless acceleration from a stop and a healthy mix of torque and power through the rev range.

Lexus also emphasizes refinement in the chassis updates, including a stiffer body structure, new shock absorbers on non-F Sport grades, an upgraded steering rack, and a new brake-control system that helps settle the vehicle during sudden maneuvers. The hybrid system’s smooth operation and the brand’s focus on reduced vibration point to a powertrain designed for long-term everyday use.

If you plan to keep one for the long haul, your biggest ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about making sure the hybrid system, electronics, and cabin condition stay well cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing trims with different wheel, suspension, and equipment packages. Pay close attention to cabin condition and cargo-area wear, since space is already limited and interior presentation matters a lot in this model.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium and Premium+ grades come with perforated faux leather seating and an all-black dashboard with contrast stitching, while the Luxury grade gets leather. F Sport models add their own exterior trim pieces, gloss-black accents, exclusive 20-inch wheels, and available red brake calipers.
• Powertrain: The NX is hybrid-only for 2027, with a 350h hybrid and a 450h+ plug-in hybrid. The revised 2.5-liter four-cylinder is paired with a new, more compact e-Axle, and the 350h makes 244 hp.
• Safety package: Every NX comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Intersection Turn Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, high-beam assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Every NX also gets blind-spot monitors, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver monitor, parking assist, rear pedestrian detection, and lane-change and trailering-assist features.
• Infotainment: All trims come with a 14-inch center touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Over-the-air software updates are standard, and every NX gets an integrated Drive Recorder.
• Fuel efficiency: Lexus estimates the FWD NX 350h at 44 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 40 mpg combined. AWD versions are estimated at 42/34/38 mpg, the F Sport at 41/34/38 mpg, and the NX 450h+ at 39/35/37 mpg when running as a hybrid, with 45 miles of all-electric range.

Which 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid is offered in 4 trim levels: Premium, Premium+, F Sport, Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core NX experience with the standard hybrid setup, the 14-inch touchscreen, the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and the full safety suite. It makes sense if you want the NX’s tech and efficiency without paying for extra luxury touches.
• Premium+: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more upscale cabin materials and keeps the NX’s strongest strengths intact. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the most distinctive appearance and a sportier visual presentation, including exclusive exterior trim, gloss-black accents, and 20-inch wheels. It also gets AWD standard.
• Luxury: This is the trim to buy if you want the most upscale cabin feel, including leather seating and color-matched fenders. It suits you best if interior ambiance matters more than price.

Every NX comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, so you do not need to move up a trim to get the core driver-assistance package.

Should I buy a 2027 Lexus NX Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2027 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2027 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It adds hybrid-only powertrains, a 14-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2027 if you want the newest NX Hybrid with the updated hybrid-only lineup, bigger standard screens, and the latest safety and tech features. If you’re mainly chasing value and can find a well-kept 2026 at a better price, that older model is still worth a look for budget-conscious shopping.
