New & Used 2027 Kia Seltos for Sale nearGrand Rapids, MI

Is the 2027 Kia Seltos a good car?

The 2027 Kia Seltos earns an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

That lines up with what you get in the redesigned Seltos: a stylish small SUV with a roomy interior and cargo area, plus advanced infotainment and safety tech that make it feel more modern than many rivals. It is especially appealing if you want a compact SUV that emphasizes space, style, and features.

The trade-offs are real, though. The standard engine is sluggish, and the ride can feel soft and springy at times. It also lacks standard blind-spot warning.

Even so, 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2027 Kia Seltos reliable?

The 2027 Kia Seltos is presented as a new model with a strong emphasis on modern equipment and a generous warranty package, which helps support confidence for used buyers. Its powertrain lineup is described as still lacking until the hybrid arrives, but the overall package is framed as practical and well thought out rather than fragile or overly complicated.

Kia’s coverage includes a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a five-year/60,000-mile standard warranty, and five-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance, which helps reduce early ownership risk. The standard 2.0-liter engine is described as adequate for typical small-SUV use, though it can feel slow in harder driving situations.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about known durability problems and more about whether you’ll be satisfied with the current gas powertrains over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Kia Seltos?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or a vehicle with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and whether the trim level matches the safety and convenience equipment you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX trim lacks blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the S trim is specifically recommended because it adds safe-exit warning. The higher trims also bring more upscale equipment, and the top X-Line SX can be paired with the Prestige Package for the most feature-rich setup.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a CVT, and that setup is described as slow when merging, passing, or climbing hills. The X-Line SX uses a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic and torque-vectoring AWD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking with intersection turning assist, front and rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control. The base LX does not get blind-spot monitoring or rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The standard infotainment touchscreen is 12.3 inches, and it includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Kia Connect connected services. The panoramic display with the digital instrument panel and climate panel is not standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The X-Line SX is rated at 26 mpg combined, and it averaged 26.5 mpg on the test route.

Which 2027 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2027 Kia Seltos is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line S, and X-Line SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it misses blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so it makes the least sense if safety features matter to you.
• S: This is the best-value choice because it adds the safety equipment Kia says the LX lacks, including safe-exit warning, while staying below the more expensive trims.
• EX: This trim is a step up if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the X-Line models.
• X-Line S: Choose this if you want standard AWD and a more upscale feel than the lower trims.
• X-Line SX: This is the most powerful and most feature-rich version, with the turbocharged engine and the most premium available equipment, but it is also the priciest.

For safety-package shoppers, the key note is that the LX does not get blind-spot monitoring or rear cross-traffic alert, so the S trim is the smarter starting point.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2027 Kia Seltos?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 515 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 97.1% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2027 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2027 Kia Seltos does not yet have published crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking with intersection turning assist, front and rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control. Kia’s Highway Driving Assist is available with the Prestige Package on the X-Line SX, and that package also adds a camera-based blind-spot monitor, a surround-view camera system, additional side parking sensors, and rear automatic braking.

The main safety caveat is that the base LX trim does not include blind-spot monitoring or rear cross-traffic alert, so you should step up if those features matter to you.

Should I buy a 2027 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2027 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2027 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The redesigned model brings a roomier cabin, stronger styling, and more advanced infotainment and safety tech than before.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Seltos with the most modern design and features, the 2027 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to shop carefully and compare listings closely, especially if you can live with fewer features in exchange for a lower asking price.
