New & Used 2027 Honda Passport for Sale nearAnkeny, IA

Is the 2027 Honda Passport a good car?

The 2027 Honda Passport earns a 7.8/10 expert rating, and it’s aimed at you if you want a two-row midsize SUV that balances everyday comfort with real utility. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10. From the overview and expert testing, you get a roomy, easy-to-maneuver crossover with generous cargo space, standard all-wheel drive, and a strong equipment list that includes useful tech and comfort features. The trade-offs are that it’s thirstier than most rivals and it doesn’t offer a hybrid option. Even so, the Passport’s mix of refinement, towing ability, and available off-road capability makes it a compelling fit if you want versatility without moving up to a larger SUV. The market also looks reasonably active, with 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2027 Honda Passport reliable?

The 2027 Honda Passport is presented as a straightforward gasoline SUV with a standard V6, and the expert data emphasizes smooth highway acceleration and enough torque for low-speed off-road use. The overview also points to a practical, comfort-focused design with standard all-wheel drive and a strong everyday feature set, which supports the idea of a vehicle built for broad usability rather than complexity. The performance notes suggest a conventional powertrain and no hybrid system to add extra mechanical complexity, and the cost-effectiveness notes indicate that the base trim already includes a lot of standard equipment. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is mainly tied to higher running costs rather than unusual mechanical drama.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Honda Passport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a TrailSport model that may have seen rougher use. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, underbody wear, and signs of hard off-road driving or neglected maintenance. If the SUV has the available camera-based off-road equipment, make sure it works properly and that all standard safety and convenience features operate as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RTL already brings a rugged look, premium-feeling materials, and a strong standard equipment list, but the TrailSport trims add more capable hardware and better off-road-focused details. The base trim also has some harder plastic in high-touch areas, so you should compare cabin materials carefully if interior feel matters to you.
• Powertrain: The Passport uses a standard V6 with 280 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and it feels smooth in highway driving while still having enough low-speed torque for off-road maneuvering. It does not offer a hybrid option.
• Safety package: Every Passport comes with Honda Sensing, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, road-departure mitigation, and a driver-attention monitor. Standard equipment also includes blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, a rear-seat reminder, and a multi-angle rearview camera. The surround-view camera system is optional.
• Infotainment: The Passport comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 10.2-inch digital cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Google built-in, wireless phone charging, and four USB charging ports. TrailSport models add the TrailWatch camera system, and the TrailSport Elite adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Passport is described as thirstier than most rivals, but no MPG figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2027 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2027 Honda Passport is offered in 3 trim levels: RTL, TrailSport, TrailSport Elite.

Here’s the short version:

• RTL: This is the value-oriented starting point if you want the Passport’s standard V6, standard all-wheel drive, and a long list of tech and safety features without paying for the more specialized off-road gear. It’s the trim that gives you the core Passport experience, though some cabin materials are less upscale than the higher trims.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value trim for most buyers. It adds the more rugged hardware and off-road-focused equipment that make the Passport feel more distinctive, and the expert data specifically calls it the sweet spot for shoppers who don’t need luxury extras.
• TrailSport Elite: Choose this if you want the most upscale Passport, with the premium audio system, rain-sensing wipers, and hands-free liftgate. It makes sense if you want the most comfort and convenience, but it’s not the best value if you’re mainly after capability.

Every Passport comes standard with Honda Sensing, and the surround-view camera system is the only optional safety feature of note.

Should I buy a 2027 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2027 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2027 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Honda updated the TrailSport trims with upgraded suspension, extra ground clearance, and a standard surround-view camera on the base TrailSport.

Consider the 2026 if:

• The previous year is a redesigned, well-rounded two-row SUV with spacious cargo room and user-friendly tech.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date TrailSport setup and the strongest off-road-oriented equipment, the 2027 is the better target. If you’re mainly shopping for value and can find a cleaner or cheaper 2026, that model still delivers the Passport’s core strengths in space, comfort, and usability. For price-sensitive buyers, the older model is worth a close look; for buyers who want the latest TrailSport improvements, the 2027 is the better pick.
