Is the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica a good car?

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica earns a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

That score lines up with what you get in practice: this is still a practical family hauler with Stow ’n Go seating, good third-row legroom, and the segment’s only V6-and-all-wheel-drive combination. It also gets a new face for the year, but the refreshed styling is polarizing, the tech feels outdated, and real-world fuel economy trails EPA estimates.

The trade-offs are clear. The new front-end design may not appeal to you, and the cabin’s technology is behind the curve for a 2027 model year.

With 31.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica reliable?

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica is presented as a familiar, proven family vehicle rather than a major mechanical rethink, which generally helps keep ownership expectations straightforward. Its V6 powertrain is described as confidence-inspiring, and the model’s practical packaging remains a core strength.

The performance notes point to a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic, with no CVT in sight. That setup suggests a conventional, well-understood drivetrain, even if the engine note is rougher than you might want and the cabin is not especially quiet. Chrysler also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership story: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about novelty and more about living with a vehicle whose fuel economy and refinement may not match your expectations over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Chrysler Pacifica?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional safety equipment. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re looking at.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX keeps the older logo, a more reserved fascia, and simpler headlights, while trims above it get the new lit-up logo and sharper lighting signature. If styling matters to you, the LX is the cleaner, less dramatic choice; if you want the refreshed look, you’ll need to move up.
• Powertrain: The 3.6-liter V6 makes 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available on every trim except the base LX.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes full-speed forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, ParkSense rear park-assist with stop, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The optional Enhanced Safety Sphere Package adds a turn-signal-activated blind-spot camera and a ParkSense-activated front camera; it is available on Select and Limited and standard on Pinnacle.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is standard across the lineup, and the blind-spot camera view takes over the full display when activated.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive V6 is rated at 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. All-wheel drive drops that to 17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.

Which 2027 Chrysler Pacifica trim should I buy?

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Select, Limited, Pinnacle.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value entry point if you want the Pacifica’s basic practicality at the lowest price, but it skips the more dramatic new front-end styling and is not the right pick if all-wheel drive is a must-have.
• Select: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it unlocks the refreshed front-end styling and makes all-wheel drive available for an additional cost. It’s the trim to start with if you want the Pacifica’s core strengths without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Limited: This is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale feel and added convenience, including ventilated seats. It also can be paired with the Enhanced Safety Sphere Package, which adds useful camera-based safety features.
• Pinnacle: This is the top trim if you want the most fully equipped Pacifica, and it comes standard with the Enhanced Safety Sphere Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2027 Chrysler Pacifica?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 705 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 89.6% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica safe?

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA. In IIHS testing, it earned a Good rating in the small-overlap front test, an Acceptable rating in the updated side crash test, and a Marginal rating in the updated moderate-overlap front test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes full-speed forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, ParkSense rear park-assist with stop, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The optional Enhanced Safety Sphere Package adds a turn-signal-activated blind-spot camera and a ParkSense-activated front camera, and it is standard on Pinnacle.

The main caveat is the Marginal IIHS result in the updated moderate-overlap front test, which keeps the Pacifica from earning a Top Safety Pick designation.

Should I buy a 2027 Chrysler Pacifica or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2027 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• A new fascia and lighting signature grace the higher trim levels, but otherwise it will be hard to notice many changes between the 2026 Pacifica and this new 2027 model.

The bottom line:

If you want the latest look and the same practical Pacifica formula, the 2027 is the straightforward choice. If you’re price-sensitive, a nearby model year may make more sense because the core strengths remain largely the same, and the biggest differences are concentrated in styling and trim structure rather than a wholesale redesign.
