New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearMadrid, NY

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 expert rating, and the standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10. The XC60’s appeal comes from its stylish design, premium interior materials, and comfortable seats, plus the new Volvo Car UX infotainment system that helps the SUV feel more current despite its aging platform. It also fits buyers who want a compact luxury crossover with a calm, upscale cabin and a strong comfort focus.

The trade-offs are real: the XC60 is described as sluggish, its fuel economy is poor, and its driver-assistance tech is unimpressive. Even so, if you value a polished interior and a relaxed luxury feel more than quick acceleration or cutting-edge assistance systems, it still makes sense to consider. The market shows 37.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is presented as a familiar, well-developed compact luxury SUV with a 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrain and standard all-wheel drive, which supports a sense of everyday durability. The performance notes also point to a conventional turbocharged four-cylinder setup with regenerative braking and a standard eight-speed automatic, so you are not dealing with an especially complex or experimental layout.

Volvo also includes two complimentary services with a lease or purchase, and the connected-services plan runs for four years, which helps with early ownership convenience. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the XC60’s aging design and modest powertrain performance may make it feel less fresh over time, especially if you expect strong efficiency or more advanced driver assistance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are looking at a higher-mileage example or one with expensive options. Pay close attention to tire and wheel condition, infotainment operation, and the behavior of the driver-assistance systems on a test drive. Because this SUV is positioned as a luxury model, condition matters a lot when you are comparing similarly priced listings.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 comes in Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition trim levels. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, since the review highlights how much the cabin and feature set improve as you move up the range. The Ultra trim is the one that best showcases the XC60’s upscale character, especially with the richer interior materials and available comfort upgrades.
• Powertrain: The XC60 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It is not especially quick, and the power delivery can feel delayed, so you should test it in traffic and on hills to make sure the response suits you.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist is the main driver-assistance suite, combining adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. Standard safety equipment also includes forward-collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. The system’s behavior is a weak point, so make sure you are comfortable with how it works before you buy.
• Infotainment: The XC60 gets an 11.2-inch touchscreen with Volvo Car UX, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but CarPlay requires a wired connection, so check whether that setup works for you.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 26 mpg in combined driving, and the review’s real-world testing returned 24.7 mpg on one loop and 21.7 mpg on another.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the XC60’s design and new infotainment without stretching for extras. It gives you the basic Volvo experience, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped down compared with the richer versions above it.
• Plus: This is the sensible middle ground if you want a better-equipped XC60 without jumping all the way to the top. It should be the trim to target if you want a balance of value and comfort.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it captures the XC60’s strongest qualities: the upscale cabin, premium materials, and comfort-focused personality. The review specifically points out that skipping the biggest-cost options on Ultra makes the SUV much more reasonable while preserving what you actually want from it.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the XC60’s upscale look with a more distinctive appearance. It is the style-forward choice in the lineup.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that the XC60’s driver-assistance tech is standard, but its real-world performance is not especially impressive, so trim upgrades do not fully solve that weakness.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it can be a good time to shop if you are willing to compare listings carefully and focus on condition.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,299 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 97.3% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60 includes forward-collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, intersection braking assist, and Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats as an option.

The weak point is the driver-assistance tuning. The system is described as unsophisticated, with lane-centering behavior that can wander, brake too late in traffic, and issue false warnings in some situations. That shortcoming matters if you are buying this SUV specifically for advanced safety tech.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 XC60 stands out for its new Volvo Car UX infotainment system, with an 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and an improved user experience.

The bottom line:

If you want the newest cabin tech and a more current-feeling XC60, the 2026 is the one to target. If your priority is getting the best value and you are less concerned about the latest infotainment updates, a price-sensitive shopper may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-equipped example rather than the newest badge.
