New & Used 2026 Toyota bZ for Sale nearRoswell, NM

Is the 2026 Toyota bZ a good car?

The 2026 Toyota bZ earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

Toyota’s updates make this EV much more compelling than before: you get more power, over 300 miles of range in the right configuration, a standard NACS charging port with a CCS adapter, and Plug & Charge capability. That lines up well with the bZ’s mission as an easy-to-live-with, comparatively affordable electric SUV, and the cleaner interior and exterior styling help it feel more modern.

The trade-offs are still real, though. The driver display is poor, the driver monitoring system is irritating, and the bZ does not earn a Top Safety Pick designation. Even so, the combination of comfort, usability, and value makes it a much stronger choice than the earlier version.

With 38.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find one at a competitive price.

Is the 2026 Toyota bZ reliable?

The 2026 Toyota bZ is presented as a low-cost-to-own EV with free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership expenses. Toyota also positions it as a practical, easy-to-live-with crossover with a straightforward electric powertrain and home charging that can be completed in less than seven hours with the larger battery.

The expert notes also point to generally sensible day-to-day behavior: the bZ is comfortable, quiet on the highway, and its regenerative braking setup feels natural enough that the driver-assistance braking doesn’t seem intrusive. That said, the poor driver display and irritating driver monitoring system are reminders that some of the ownership experience still needs refinement.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the bZ’s appeal depends heavily on living with its electronics and driver-assistance behavior, so you should be especially careful about how well those systems work in the specific vehicle you’re considering.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota bZ?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping for a higher-mileage EV or one that has spent a lot of time on DC fast charging. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the cabin tech and driver-assistance systems work cleanly and consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: XLE and Limited are the two trim levels, and the base XLE is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about the larger battery, added power, and extra range. The Limited adds more equipment and is the better fit if you want the most complete version.
• Powertrain: You can get a single-motor FWD setup or a dual-motor AWD setup, and the larger battery brings the stronger output and longer range. The FWD version is the more efficiency-focused choice, while AWD adds traction and more power.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes high-beam assist, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic low-speed braking are also standard, while the Limited adds Traffic Jam Assist, lane-change assist, front cross-traffic assist, and Advanced Park Assist.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes a 7-inch digital driver display and a 14-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports over-the-air connected services through Toyota’s app-based features.
• Range & charging: The smaller battery is rated at 236 miles, while the larger battery reaches 314 miles in XLE FWD form. DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes, and the larger battery can recharge at home in seven hours on a 240-volt, 48-amp Level 2 charger.
• Battery health: For a used EV, you should confirm battery state-of-health, ask how often the car has been fast-charged versus charged at home, and check how much of the battery warranty remains. A clean charging history and normal range behavior matter more than mileage alone.

Which 2026 Toyota bZ trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota bZ is offered in 2 trim levels: XLE and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the value play, especially if you want the lowest entry price and still want the core bZ experience with standard safety tech, wireless smartphone integration, and the choice of battery and drivetrain combinations. If you want the best balance of price and capability, this is the trim to start with.
• Limited: This is the better pick if you want the most complete bZ, since it adds the more advanced driver-assistance and parking features, plus the standard larger battery. It suits you best if you want the most range and the most convenience features in one package.

The Limited trim also gets Traffic Jam Assist, lane-change assist, front cross-traffic assist, and Advanced Park Assist.

Is the 2026 Toyota bZ safe?

The 2026 Toyota bZ earns Acceptable ratings in frontal-impact crash tests from IIHS, while its front-crash avoidance tech is rated Good and its headlights are rated Poor, which keeps it from Top Safety Pick status.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes high-beam assist, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control. Proactive Driving Assist is also included, and standard equipment further adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic low-speed braking.

The Limited trim adds Traffic Jam Assist, lane-change assist, front cross-traffic assist, and Advanced Park Assist. The main caveat is that the bZ does not earn a Top Safety Pick designation, and the driver monitoring system is described as overly sensitive.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota bZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Toyota’s 2026 refresh brings more power, over 300 miles of range, a standard NACS charging port with a CCS adapter, Plug & Charge capability, and a cleaner interior and exterior.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest version of this EV, the 2026 is the one to target because it fixes the biggest shortcomings of the earlier model and makes the bZ genuinely competitive. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully for the best deal, but the 2026 is the better starting point because the improvements are meaningful rather than cosmetic.
