New & Used 2026 Toyota bZ for Sale nearKalamazoo, MI

Is the 2026 Toyota bZ a good car?

The 2026 Toyota bZ earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

Toyota’s updates make this year’s bZ a much more convincing electric SUV than before: it now has more power, over 300 miles of range in the right configuration, a standard NACS charging port with a CCS adapter, and Plug & Charge capability. That lines up well with the bZ’s role as an EV that’s meant to be easy to live with and comparatively affordable.

The trade-offs are still real, though. The driver display is poor, and the driver monitoring system is irritating. Even so, the bZ’s improved formula makes it a more competitive choice for buyers who want a practical, lower-cost EV rather than a flashy one. Good and great deals account for 33.2% of listings, which suggests there’s at least some market support for shoppers looking to buy carefully.

Is the 2026 Toyota bZ reliable?

The 2026 Toyota bZ is presented as a more dependable and easier-to-live-with EV than its predecessor, with Toyota’s updates addressing several of the earlier model’s biggest weaknesses. The powertrain is described as improved, the technology is easier to use overall, and the vehicle’s low cost of ownership adds to its appeal.

Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership hassle. The bZ’s electric setup and regenerative-braking behavior are described as natural and well integrated, and the Proactive Driving Assist system works without feeling intrusive.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the basic EV hardware and more about living with the bZ’s weaker driver-display and driver-monitoring setup over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota bZ?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple examples with different battery sizes or drivetrain setups. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the cabin tech and driver-assistance systems work as intended in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLE and Limited trims differ in equipment, with the Limited adding more convenience and driver-assistance content. The base setup is already well equipped, but the higher trim brings more advanced features.
• Powertrain: You can get the bZ with single-motor front-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, and the larger battery brings more power and range. The dual-motor setup produces stronger output, while the FWD version is the simpler, more efficiency-focused choice.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes high-beam assist, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic low-speed braking are also standard, while the Limited adds Traffic Jam Assist, lane-change assist, front cross-traffic assist, and Advanced Park Assist.
• Infotainment: The bZ gets a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air connected services support through Toyota’s multimedia system. The larger screen is a major upgrade, but you should still check visibility and ease of use in person.
• Range & charging: The larger battery delivers over 300 miles of range in XLE Plus FWD spec, and Toyota says DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes on a 150-kW charger. Home charging on a 240-volt Level 2 setup takes less than seven hours with the larger battery.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should ask for battery state-of-health information, review charging habits, and confirm whether the car spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2026 Toyota bZ trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota bZ is offered in 2 trim levels: XLE and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the value play if you want the bZ’s core strengths without paying for the top trim. It gives you the standard EV setup, the latest tech, and the main safety equipment, making it the best-value choice for most shoppers.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the more upscale and more advanced version of the bZ. It adds the extra driver-assistance and convenience features that make daily driving easier, so it suits you best if you want the most complete package.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every trim, while the Limited adds Traffic Jam Assist, lane-change assist, front cross-traffic assist, and Advanced Park Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Toyota bZ?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer, with enough inventory to shop around and a meaningful share of listings priced attractively.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 193 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 97.9% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Toyota bZ safe?

The 2026 Toyota bZ does not earn a Top Safety Pick designation, and its IIHS results show some clear weak spots. The IIHS gave the front-crash avoidance tech a Good rating, but the headlights received a Poor rating and frontal-impact crash tests earned Acceptable ratings.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes high-beam assist, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control. Proactive Driving Assist is also included, along with blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic low-speed braking.

The Limited trim adds Traffic Jam Assist, lane-change assist, front cross-traffic assist, and Advanced Park Assist. The main caveat is that the bZ’s safety performance falls short of the strongest IIHS benchmark because of the headlight and frontal-impact results.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota bZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Toyota’s updates make this year’s bZ more competitive, with more power, over 300 miles of range, a standard NACS charging port, and a cleaner, more modern design.

The bottom line: If you want the most improved version of the bZ, the 2026 model is the one to target. It fixes many of the earlier car’s biggest shortcomings and is the better default choice for most used buyers. If you’re especially price-sensitive, though, it still makes sense to compare nearby model years and shop for the best-equipped example at the lowest price.
