New & Used 2026 Subaru Ascent for Sale nearSanta Fe, NM

Is the 2026 Subaru Ascent a good car?

The 2026 Subaru Ascent is a family-focused three-row SUV with standard all-wheel drive, a spacious interior, and seating for seven or eight passengers. It also brings a strong safety reputation, with an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ every year it has been in production.

For you, the appeal is practical everyday use: a standard 11.6-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone automatic climate control, up to 72.8 cubic feet of cargo space, and a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. Its 260-horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged engine gives it enough capability for family duty, though fuel economy is one of its weaker points.

With 38.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market offers a moderate amount of value-oriented inventory.

Is the 2026 Subaru Ascent reliable?

The 2026 Subaru Ascent carries a strong safety reputation and a straightforward family-SUV formula with standard all-wheel drive and a proven 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. It is built around practical features that suit daily use, including a spacious cabin, useful cargo room, and a towing rating of up to 5,000 pounds.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should expect a vehicle designed for family hauling and regular use, so condition and maintenance history matter more than headline features.
