New & Used 2026 Subaru Ascent for Sale nearHowell, MI

Is the 2026 Subaru Ascent a good car?

The 2026 Subaru Ascent is a family-focused three-row SUV with standard all-wheel drive, a spacious interior, and seating for seven or eight passengers. It also brings a strong safety reputation, with the Ascent earning an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ every year it has been in production.

For you, the appeal is the mix of practicality and equipment. The 2026 model includes a standard 11.6-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trims, plus family-friendly touches like three-zone automatic climate control and a wide range of available comfort and convenience features. It also offers up to 72.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the seatbacks folded and a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds.

Its 260-horsepower 2.4-liter Boxer turbocharged engine gives it enough capability for everyday family duty, though fuel economy remains one of its weaker points. With 38.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find value if the Ascent fits your needs.

Is the 2026 Subaru Ascent reliable?

The 2026 Subaru Ascent is presented as a family-focused SUV with a strong safety reputation and a practical, straightforward formula. It has standard all-wheel drive, a spacious cabin, and a long-running record of top IIHS safety recognition, which supports its appeal for buyers who want a dependable family hauler.

It also brings useful everyday equipment, including wireless smartphone integration, three-zone climate control, and a capable turbocharged engine. For long-term ownership, your main risk is less about the basic mission and more about whether you can live with its fuel economy and the wear that comes with a used three-row SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Subaru Ascent?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to keep the SUV for family duty or towing. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, tire wear, brake wear, and signs of heavy interior use, since those details matter more than the model’s broad family-friendly reputation.

Should I buy a 2026 Subaru Ascent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version in this comparison window and you value strong clean-inventory availability, the 2026 is the primary path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point while still keeping the same basic three-row Subaru formula.
