New & Used 2026 Nissan Pathfinder for Sale nearMonticello, IL

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

That lines up with its role as a roomy midsize three-row crossover that can seat up to eight people while delivering a car-like ride and control at a medium price point. It is especially appealing if you want easy access to all rows, useful infotainment, and a cabin that feels modern without being overdone.

The trade-offs are clear: the powertrain is sluggish, efficiency is mediocre, and the Pathfinder lands in the middle of the pack for performance, technology, and driving enjoyment. Even so, it remains a good value if you prioritize space and interior quality over driving excitement.

Good and great deals account for 39.0% of listings, which suggests a fairly workable shopping environment.

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

The 2026 Pathfinder is presented as a practical, family-focused SUV with a car-like ride and a straightforward cabin, which supports an ownership experience centered more on usability than complexity. Its naturally aspirated V6 and nine-speed automatic are familiar hardware, and the refreshed model adds convenience features and a larger touchscreen without changing the basic formula.

The performance notes also point to a simple, conventional setup rather than a highly stressed powertrain, which can be a plus for long-term durability. The cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that it is a good value in the segment, and the 2026 refresh adds useful tech rather than major mechanical changes.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the sluggish powertrain and mediocre efficiency may leave you wanting more as mileage and maintenance needs build.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a truck that has been used for family hauling and towing. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the features you want are present on the trim you are shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is simple and made with good materials for the price, while upper trims bring impressive materials. The Platinum trim level adds semi-aniline leather with diamond stitching, and the Rock Creek trim level has its own embroidered detailing.
• Powertrain: The Pathfinder uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. Rock Creek gets 295 hp and 270 lb-ft on premium fuel. Efficiency is 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined on S, SV, and SL, while Rock Creek is estimated at 20 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and junction assist. Active lane-keeping and blind-spot assists are standard on SV and above, traffic sign recognition is included on SL and Platinum, and ProPilot Assist is available on all but the base S trim level.
• Infotainment: Every Pathfinder gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SiriusXM satellite radio and NissanConnect remote services with in-car 5G Wi-Fi come standard, and upper trims add Qi2 wireless charging, Invisible Hood View, and Front Wide View.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy reaches 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined on the S, SV, and SL, while Rock Creek is estimated at 20 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2026 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum, Rock Creek.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it still gets the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the core safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra convenience and driver-assist upgrades.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the active lane-keeping and blind-spot assist features while keeping the Pathfinder’s core space and tech strengths intact.
• SL: This trim adds the digital instrument panel, traffic sign recognition, and more upscale equipment, making it a smart step up if you want a more polished daily driver.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with semi-aniline leather, a head-up display, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, and the front-center side airbag.
• Rock Creek: This trim gets standard AWD and a more rugged look, but the content points to compromises in ride, noise, and efficiency, so it is best for buyers who specifically want that appearance and standard AWD setup.

The safety package is strongest on SV and above, where the active lane and blind-spot assists come standard.
