New & Used 2026 Nissan Pathfinder for Sale near Lamy, NM

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

That lines up with its role as Nissan’s largest crossover: you get seating for up to eight people, a car-like ride, and a medium price point. The refreshed 2026 model also adds more convenience features, a larger touchscreen, and some styling updates, which help it stay competitive if you want a three-row SUV that prioritizes space and everyday usability.

The trade-offs are clear, though: the powertrain is sluggish, efficiency is mediocre, and the Rock Creek trim does not deliver as much as its appearance suggests.

With 40.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a solid amount of market opportunity to shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

The Pathfinder’s overall setup points toward a practical, familiar ownership experience: it keeps a naturally aspirated V6, a conventional automatic transmission, and a straightforward three-row layout. The expert notes also describe it as a good value with a spacious interior and smart, not overwhelming, tech.

On the dependability side, the performance notes suggest the drivetrain is not especially ambitious, which can be a plus for long-term simplicity. The cost-effectiveness notes also frame it as a good value in the segment, with pricing that stays competitive for a midsize three-row crossover.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Pathfinder’s mediocre efficiency and underwhelming powertrain may leave you less satisfied over time than the cabin space initially suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with added equipment. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, and whether the vehicle’s features and trim level match the way you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The interior is simple, made with good materials for the price, and upper trims bring more upscale touches. The Platinum trim’s semi-aniline leather with diamond stitching is a notable step up, while the Rock Creek’s styling cues do not translate into the kind of capability its appearance suggests.
• Powertrain: The Pathfinder uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. The Rock Creek gets 295 hp and 270 lb-ft on premium fuel, but the overall setup is still described as sluggish.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and junction assist. Active lane-keeping and blind-spot assists are standard on SV and above, while ProPilot Assist is available on all but the base S trim level.
• Infotainment: Every Pathfinder gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SiriusXM satellite radio and NissanConnect remote services with in-car 5G Wi-Fi come standard, and upper trims add Qi2 wireless charging, Invisible Hood View, and Front Wide View.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy reaches an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined on the S, SV, and SL whether you choose FWD or AWD. The Rock Creek is estimated at 20 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2026 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Pathfinder experience with the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full basic safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra convenience and driver-assist upgrades.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the active lane-keeping and blind-spot assist features while keeping the Pathfinder’s useful cabin and tech intact. If you want a balanced mix of equipment and value, this is the trim to target.
• Rock Creek: This trim adds its own look and comes standard with AWD, but the content makes clear that the off-road promise is mostly cosmetic and the tires hurt refinement and efficiency. It is best for buyers who want the styling and standard AWD, not for anyone expecting real trail capability.
• SL: This trim brings a more upscale feel, including the digital instrument panel and additional tech upgrades. It is a good choice if you want a more polished cabin without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with semi-aniline leather, a front-center side airbag, a head-up display, and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. Buy this if you want the most premium Pathfinder experience.

The safety package is strongest on SV and above, while ProPilot Assist is available on all but the base S trim level.

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2026 Pathfinder earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in the frontal crash test. The IIHS has given it Good ratings in both the side impact and small overlap front tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes second-row side-impact airbags, curtain airbags that cover all three rows, front knee airbags, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and junction assist. The Platinum trim also adds a front-center side airbag in the driver’s seat, which is an uncommon and valuable feature.

Active lane-keeping and blind-spot intervention are standard on SV and above, and ProPilot Assist is available on all but the base S trim level. It is version 1.0, though, so it does not include hands-free capability.

Should I buy a 2026 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The refreshed model adds more convenience features, a larger touchscreen, and new styling touches.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a well-rounded, practical three-row SUV with strong value and family-friendly usability.

The bottom line: Choose the 2026 if you want the updated cabin tech and refreshed details, especially with a strong share of well-priced listings in the market. If you’re mainly shopping on price and want a broadly capable Pathfinder, the 2025 remains the more budget-friendly path.
