New & Used 2026 Nissan Pathfinder for Sale nearAmsterdam, NY

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want a three-row SUV that prioritizes space, easy access to all rows, and everyday usability at a medium price point. The refreshed 2026 model adds more convenience features, a larger touchscreen, and new styling touches, which help keep it competitive for family buyers who value interior room and practical tech.

The trade-offs are clear: the powertrain is sluggish, efficiency is mediocre, and the Rock Creek trim doesn’t deliver as much as its appearance suggests.

With 38.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

The 2026 Pathfinder is presented as a sensible, value-focused three-row SUV with a car-like ride and a straightforward cabin layout. Its refreshed interior and useful tech should make day-to-day ownership easy, and the standard equipment list is broad enough to cover most family needs without forcing you into the highest trims.

The 3.5-liter V6 continues to deliver familiar, naturally aspirated power, and the Pathfinder’s setup favors smooth, predictable driving over complexity. That simplicity can be a plus for long-term ownership, especially if you want a mainstream gas SUV without a turbocharged or hybrid powertrain.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is that the Pathfinder’s modest performance and efficiency may leave you wanting more over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific vehicle you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is simple, made with good materials for the price, and the upper trims bring more upscale touches. The Platinum’s semi-aniline leather with diamond stitching is the most luxurious finish mentioned, while the base trim misses some of the higher-end convenience and driver-assistance content found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The Pathfinder uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, while Rock Creek gets 295 horsepower and 270 pound-feet on premium fuel. FWD is standard on every trim except Rock Creek, and AWD is optional on the other trims.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and junction assist. Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention and Intelligent Lane Intervention are standard on SV and above, while ProPilot Assist is available on all but the base S trim.
• Infotainment: Every Pathfinder gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SiriusXM satellite radio and NissanConnect remote services with in-car 5G Wi-Fi come standard, and upper trims add features like Qi2 wireless charging, Invisible Hood View, and Front Wide View.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-estimated fuel economy reaches 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined on the S, SV, and SL, while Rock Creek is estimated at 20 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2026 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, Platinum.

Here’s the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Pathfinder experience with the standard V6, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full basic safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and don’t need extra comfort or driver-assistance features.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the lane-keeping and blind-spot intervention systems while keeping the Pathfinder’s practical strengths intact. If you want a smarter balance of equipment and price, this is the trim to target.
• Rock Creek: This trim adds the most distinctive look and comes standard with AWD, but the content suggests the appearance is more convincing than the driving payoff. It’s the one to choose only if you specifically want the styling and standard AWD.
• SL: This trim brings a more upscale feel and adds the digital instrument panel, making it a good middle ground if you want more tech without jumping all the way to the top.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the most premium materials, the front-center side airbag, a head-up display, and the 13-speaker Bose audio system. It’s the one to buy if you want the most fully equipped Pathfinder.

The safety package is strongest on SV and above, while ProPilot Assist is not available on the base S.

Is the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2026 Pathfinder earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, but it earns four-star ratings in the frontal crash test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Pathfinder comes with second-row side-impact airbags, curtain airbags that deploy to all three rows, and front knee airbags. The Platinum also adds a front-center side airbag in the driver’s seat, which is an uncommon and valuable feature for side-impact protection.

Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and junction assist. Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention and Intelligent Lane Intervention are standard on SV and above, while ProPilot Assist is available on all but the base S trim and does not include hands-free capability.

The Pathfinder received the top “Good” rating in both IIHS tests that have been conducted so far: side impact and small overlap front.

Should I buy a 2026 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It adds more convenience features, a larger touchscreen, and fresh styling touches.

Consider the 2025 if:

• The 2025 is a well-rounded, practical three-row SUV with strong value and family-friendly usability.

The bottom line: Choose the 2026 if you want the refreshed cabin tech, updated styling, and a broad mix of space and usability. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2025 remains a sensible alternative that keeps the Pathfinder’s core strengths while potentially costing less.
