How much does the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE cost?

Prices have softened 4.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,230 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns an 6.7/10 from our experts.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The GLE’s appeal comes from its upscale cabin, broad configuration range, and strong performance potential, especially if you want a luxury SUV that emphasizes comfort and equipment. It is offered in standard and coupe body styles, and Mercedes gives you four-, six-, and eight-cylinder choices, so you can tailor the vehicle to your needs.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, the ride quality is poor, and advanced safety features are not standard. That means the GLE makes the most sense if you value luxury features and tech more than sharp handling or a fully loaded standard safety suite.

Good and great deals account for 34.7% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE is positioned as a premium SUV with a strong feature set, but its ownership story is more mixed than its cabin presentation suggests. The overview points to broad appeal and a luxury-first formula, while the expert evaluation highlights strong performance potential and impressive technology.

From a dependability standpoint, the performance content says the GLE is agreeable on long trips thanks to its quiet cabin and decent fuel economy. The cost-effectiveness content also notes Mercedes includes a four-year/50,000-mile warranty with roadside assistance.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is that you may be paying luxury-SUV money without getting standout value or especially strong resale support.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect any candidate carefully, especially if it has higher mileage or optional equipment. Pay close attention to ride quality, brake feel, and whether the vehicle has the features you want standard or only through packages. If you’re shopping a used example, condition matters because the GLE’s value proposition depends heavily on how well it was equipped and maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard GLE lineup spans multiple versions, and the base GLE 350 is the only one without standard AWD. Higher-spec models add more equipment, and the Manufaktur Edition Package bundles exclusive paint, 21-inch wheels, a Night Package, a panoramic sunroof, Nappa premium leather, and the Driver Assistance Package.
• Powertrain: The GLE 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The lineup also includes four-, six-, and eight-cylinder choices, plus a plug-in hybrid variant.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and centering assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking assist, and speed-management functions tied to road signs, curves, and following distances. It also includes Active Emergency Stop Assist.
• Infotainment: The MBUX system uses a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the Exclusive Package adds a Burmester surround-sound system, Dolby Atmos, augmented-reality navigation, and online music streaming.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLE 450 returns 21 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 10 trim levels: GLE 350, GLE 450, GLE 450e, AMG GLE 63 S Coupe, GLE 450 4Matic Coupe, GLE 350 SUV, GLE 450 4Matic Coupe, GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, GLE 500e 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price, but it is also the one version that does not get standard AWD.
• GLE 450: This is the best-value choice if you want the strongest balance of power, luxury, and everyday usability. It brings the turbocharged inline-six and mild-hybrid setup, and it aligns well with the GLE’s upscale cabin and tech strengths.
• GLE 450e: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid option and the estimated electric-only range that comes with it.
• AMG GLE 63 S Coupe: This is the performance-focused choice, with the hand-built twin-turbo V8 and standard AWD, but it sits at the top of the price range.
• GLE 450 4Matic Coupe: Pick this if you want the six-cylinder powertrain in the coupe body style.
• GLE 350 SUV: This is the least-expensive standard body-style option.
• GLE 350 4Matic: This is the better pick than the rear-drive base model if you want standard AWD.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the strongest all-around six-cylinder choice if you want AWD and the more powerful engine.
• GLE 500e 4Matic: This is the plug-in-hybrid choice for buyers prioritizing electrified driving.
• GLE 450 4Matic Coupe: This is the coupe-bodied six-cylinder option for buyers who prefer the sleeker shape.

The Driver Assistance Package is worth considering if you want the most complete safety tech, since many features are reserved for that package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,230 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 97.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $68,052, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $69,143 sits slightly below last year's $72,185.

That decline suggests the GLE is currently easier to buy than it was a year ago, which can help you if you plan to own it for several years before selling. For a future seller, though, the softer trend means you should expect more depreciation pressure than you would want from a top-tier resale performer.

Because the GLE does not hold its value as well as some rivals, your best resale outcome will likely come from buying well, choosing a desirable configuration, and keeping the vehicle in strong condition.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

The GLE’s standard safety tech is limited for an expensive luxury SUV.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard equipment list includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, a safe-exit assist system, automatic high-beam headlights, and Pre-Safe Sound. It also includes front and rear sensors, a surround-view camera system, and a semi-automated parking system.

Many of the more advanced driver aids are reserved for the Driver Assistance Package, which adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and centering assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking assist, and automatic speed-management functions tied to road signs, curves, and following distances. Active Emergency Stop Assist is also part of that package.

The main caveat is that the advanced safety features are not standard, so you’ll want to verify package content carefully on any used example.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.21% compared with last year.
• It adds a new Manufaktur Edition and standard AMG Line styling on the six-cylinder GLE 450.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $61,390, the 2025 costs less than the current year's $69,143 average.
• It remains a solid choice with multiple body styles and powertrain options.

Consider the 2027 if:

• It brings a comprehensive refresh with new styling, updated tech, and upgraded powertrains.

The bottom line: If you want the current-year mix of inventory, softer pricing, and updated special editions, the 2026 is the better path. If your priority is saving money, the 2025 is the more budget-friendly alternative, while the 2027 is the one to watch if you want the refresh.
