New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE for Sale nearBurlington, VT

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns an 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It fits the luxury midsize SUV role well if you want a familiar, comfort-focused package with broad configuration choice: standard and coupe body styles, plus four-, six-, and eight-cylinder engines. The cabin is a clear highlight, with premium materials and a polished presentation that help the GLE feel upscale.

The trade-offs are real, though. Styling is uninspired, ride quality is poor, and advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, it remains appealing if you value comfort, refinement, and brand cachet over sharp driving dynamics.

Good and great deals account for 34.6% of listings, which suggests a moderate market with some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE is presented as a familiar, long-running luxury SUV formula, and its overall setup emphasizes refinement, comfort, and modern technology. The powertrain is described as strong and the cabin as quiet, which supports the sense that it should be a composed daily driver.

Its 3.0-liter inline-six mild-hybrid setup is described as agreeable for long-distance road trips, and the EPA-rated 21 mpg combined figure for the GLE 450 gives you a useful efficiency benchmark. Mercedes also includes a four-year/50,000-mile warranty with roadside assistance.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the GLE’s premium complexity and uneven ride tuning can make upkeep and satisfaction more dependent on condition and equipment level.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the specific vehicle’s equipment matches what you want, especially because some important driver-assistance features are optional. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on suspension behavior, brake feel, and the condition of the cabin electronics and displays. Pay close attention to whether the vehicle has the packages that materially change the ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GLE 350 is the least expensive version and is the only one without standard AWD, while the GLE 450 adds the six-cylinder setup and standard AMG Line exterior design. The Manufaktur Edition Package adds exclusive paint, 21-inch wheels, blacked-out trim, a panoramic sunroof, Nappa leather, and the Driver Assistance Package, making it the most feature-rich version discussed here.
• Powertrain: The GLE 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, paired with a nine-speed automatic. It delivers 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and the lineup also includes a turbo-four plug-in hybrid with 49 miles of estimated electric-only range.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit assist, automatic high-beam headlights, Pre-Safe Sound, front and rear sensors, a surround-view camera system, and a semi-automated parking system. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and centering assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking assist, and other speed-management functions.
• Infotainment: The GLE uses twin 12.3-inch displays for the driver and center screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also supports a biometric authentication system and over-the-air connected services through Mercedes Digital Extras.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLE 450 is rated at 21 mpg combined, and the plug-in hybrid offers 49 miles of estimated electric-only range.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 10 trim levels: GLE 350, GLE 450, GLE 450e, AMG GLE 53, AMG GLE 53 Coupe, AMG GLE 63 S, AMG GLE 63 S Coupe, GLE 450 4Matic Coupe, GLE 350 SUV, and AMG GLE 63 S Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350: This is the entry point if you want the lowest starting price, but it is also the one trim called out as not having standard AWD. It makes sense if you want the GLE name and basic luxury features without stretching for more equipment.
• GLE 450: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the stronger six-cylinder engine, standard AWD, and the AMG Line exterior design. It is the trim that best captures the GLE’s upscale character without jumping into the highest-priced versions.
• GLE 450e: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid setup and the estimated 49 miles of electric-only range. It is the most efficiency-focused option mentioned in the data.
• AMG GLE 53: This is for buyers who want a more performance-oriented version of the GLE lineup. The data identifies it as part of the higher-performance family, but the strongest value case still points to the GLE 450.
• AMG GLE 53 Coupe: Pick this if you want the AMG character in the coupe body style. It is the style-first choice among the performance variants.
• AMG GLE 63 S: This is the high-output choice for buyers who want the most powerful standard SUV version discussed here.
• AMG GLE 63 S Coupe: This is the most expensive and most dramatic-looking version in the lineup, combining the coupe body style with the top-end AMG treatment.
• GLE 450 4Matic Coupe: Choose this if you want the six-cylinder GLE with the coupe body style and standard AWD.
• GLE 350 SUV: This is the least expensive standard SUV version and is the simplest path into the lineup.
• AMG GLE 63 S Coupe: This is the top-end coupe choice if you want the most expensive, most aggressive version discussed.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that many driver-assistance features are reserved for the Driver Assistance Package, so you should prioritize a trim or package combination that includes it.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

The GLE earned a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS, but its front-crash prevention tech earned low ratings. It had not received an NHTSA rating at the time of writing.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit assist, automatic high-beam headlights, Pre-Safe Sound, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, and a semi-automated parking system.

Many of the more advanced driver aids are bundled into the Driver Assistance Package, which adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and centering assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking assist, and speed-management functions tied to road signs, curves, and following distances. The route-based speed-adjustment feature and automated lane-change assist were noted as inconsistent, so you should pay attention to how the system behaves on a test drive.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It keeps the familiar luxury-crossover formula while adding a standard AMG Line look on the GLE 450 and a new Manufaktur Edition.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers multiple body styles and powertrain choices in a familiar luxury SUV package.

The bottom line: Choose the 2026 if you want the latest version of the GLE’s established formula and can shop carefully for the right equipment. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth considering because it delivers the same broad appeal with a simpler change set.
