New & Used 2026 Mazda CX-90 for Sale nearAlexandria, LA

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Mazda CX-90 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a three-row midsize crossover SUV that aims to give you an engaging driving experience without giving up a premium look and feel. The standard gasoline powertrain is fairly fuel efficient, and the available plug-in hybrid broadens the appeal if you want another option.

The trade-offs are clear: the powertrain can feel unrefined, the third row is cramped, and the technology is unintuitive. Even so, the CX-90’s stylish design and strong handling help it feel more upscale and more rewarding to drive than many family-size SUVs.

41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-90 is described as a vehicle with solid safety ratings and a fairly fuel-efficient standard gasoline powertrain, which supports its appeal for everyday use. Its performance notes also point to a standard all-wheel-drive setup and an eight-speed automatic transmission across the lineup.

The ownership picture is helped by the fact that the turbocharged six-cylinder is described as surprisingly fuel efficient unless you regularly lean on the power. Mazda also notes that the CX-90 ranks as average in other cost-of-ownership metrics.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the powertrain and technology can feel uneven, so condition and maintenance history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda CX-90?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re shopping a higher-trim example with more equipment to verify. Pay close attention to the cabin controls, the shifter behavior, and how the powertrain feels during a cold start and low-speed driving. Because the CX-90’s strengths are tied to design, handling, and safety, you’ll want to make sure the vehicle you choose still feels tight, clean, and well cared for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Select trim gets the smaller 10.25-inch infotainment display, wired smartphone integration, and the standard driver-assist suite, while higher trims add the larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, and wireless charging. Premium Sport and above also add more advanced safety tech, and Premium Plus brings the most complete feature set.
• Powertrain: The 3.3 Turbo uses a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and idle-stop technology, while the 3.3 Turbo S makes more power and the plug-in hybrid adds an electric motor and battery pack. The standard gasoline setup is fairly fuel efficient, but the powertrain can feel clunky and uneven.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. Premium Sport and higher trims add active blind-spot monitors, head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, Cruising & Traffic Support, and post-collision braking, while Premium Plus adds front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The base Select trim has a 10.25-inch display, Amazon Alexa compatibility, text-messaging support, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard gasoline powertrain is rated at 25 mpg combined, and the plug-in hybrid has an electric-only range of 26 miles.

Which 2026 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 10 trim levels: Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus, Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core CX-90 experience with the standard driver-assist suite, the smaller infotainment screen, wired smartphone integration, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra convenience features.
• Preferred: This trim adds more comfort and convenience than Select while staying in the more affordable 3.3 Turbo lineup, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
• Premium Sport: This is the point where the CX-90 starts to feel more fully equipped, with the larger screen, wireless smartphone integration, and added safety tech. It’s a strong pick if you want a richer feature set without jumping all the way to the top.
• Premium Plus: This is the most complete version, adding the most advanced safety equipment and the surround-view camera system. Choose it if you want the fullest CX-90 experience and are willing to pay for it.

Mazda’s safety package expands as you move up the lineup, with Premium Sport and higher trims adding more advanced driver-assistance features and Premium Plus bringing the most comprehensive set.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 safe?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for driver and front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. All but the base Select trim have front and rear parking sensors.

Premium Sport and higher trims add active blind-spot monitors, lane-keep assist, head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, Cruising & Traffic Support, and post-collision braking. Premium Plus adds front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system with see-through and trailer-hitch views.

One caveat is that the steering-assist features are not very sophisticated, and they don’t work well in some situations where similar systems in other vehicles do better.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2026 updates are minor, limited to wheel, color, and trim changes that unify the lineup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers unusual powertrain choices, upscale styling, and strong safety ratings.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the CX-90 with a favorable market and only minor year-over-year changes, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you’re shopping mainly on value and want a similar overall formula, the 2025 is worth a look as a price-sensitive alternative.
