New & Used 2026 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearArecibo, PR

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

The 2026 Mazda CX-50 earns an expert rating of 6.17/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It’s aimed at you if you want a compact crossover SUV that prioritizes style, driving enjoyment, and everyday practicality over maximum space. The CX-50’s strengths are its attractive design, spirited handling, and strong safety results, while its trade-offs include a stiff ride, firm seats, a thirsty turbo engine, and frustrating tech.

Cons: Poor fuel economy in the turbo model and outdated technology are the biggest drawbacks.

With 46.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent amount of value-oriented inventory to consider.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

The 2026 Mazda CX-50 is presented as a well-rounded compact crossover with standard all-wheel drive across the lineup and a focus on everyday usability. Its powertrains are straightforward, and the hybrid uses proven Toyota-sourced components, which supports the case for long-term dependability.

The performance notes also point to a conventional six-speed automatic on the gas models and a hybrid system built around established hardware, which should make ownership feel familiar rather than complicated. Mazda doesn’t pair the CX-50 with standout ownership perks, so you should still plan on normal used-car maintenance and inspection discipline.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the CX-50’s comfort and tech shortcomings may matter more over time than any mechanical complexity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda CX-50?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a turbo model or a higher-mileage example. Focus on ride quality, seat comfort, and infotainment usability during your test drive, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.5 S lineup includes Select, Preferred, Meridian Edition, and Premium, while the turbo lineup includes a standard trim, Meridian Edition, and Premium Plus; the Hybrid lineup includes Preferred, Premium, and Premium Plus. Base gas models are the simplest way into the CX-50, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder with AWD, a turbocharged version with stronger output, or a hybrid system with 219 hp and an EPA-rated 38 mpg combined. The turbo is quick but thirsty, while the hybrid is the efficiency play.
• Safety package: The standard i-Activesense suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, vehicle exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, a rear-seat alert system, and a driver-attention monitor. Preferred models add front and rear parking sensors, Premium models add traffic-sign recognition and automatic speed-limit assist, and Hybrid Premium Plus and Turbo models add adaptive front lighting.
• Infotainment: The CX-50 uses a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless smartphone charging. The native Mazda Connect system relies on a control knob and buttons, so it takes some getting used to.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.5 S is rated at 26 mpg combined, the turbo is rated at 25 mpg combined, and the hybrid is rated at 38 mpg combined. The turbo’s real-world thirst is a notable ownership consideration.

Here’s the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point if you want the CX-50’s style, standard all-wheel drive, and core safety tech without paying for extras.

• Premium: The hybrid Premium is the sweet spot if you want the hybrid’s efficiency plus more comfort and convenience.
• Premium Plus: This is the top hybrid trim for shoppers who want the most equipment and the strongest feature mix.
