New & Used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport for Sale near Tryon, NC

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

It’s a luxury SUV that leans hard into prestige, performance, and customization, and the tested SV Carbon is described as the fastest and most extreme vehicle Land Rover has ever made. That makes it especially compelling if you want a top-of-class experience with dramatic road presence and serious capability on any surface.

The trade-offs are real: you give up physical controls for critical functions, and the interior uses cheaper materials than the last generation. It also sits in a very rarefied price bracket, so the value proposition is narrow even before you factor in the cost of the higher-spec versions.

Good and great deals account for 39.0% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2026 Range Rover Sport is described as a vehicle that can deliver a top-of-class experience, but it also carries poor reliability as a notable concern. The overview and expert notes point to a model that is impressive in capability and execution, yet still shadowed by ownership risk.

Its performance hardware is substantial, with standard mild-hybrid gas powertrains, full-time 4WD, locking differentials, adaptive dampers, and air springs. The expert notes also emphasize that the SUV can be exceptionally capable off-road while still riding quietly and smoothly on pavement.

For long-term ownership, you should expect higher risk than you would with a more conventional luxury SUV, especially once warranty coverage ends.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a vehicle this expensive and complex. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment on the specific truck matches what you want, since the model’s appeal depends heavily on trim and option content.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The interior design is elegant, but the base setup loses the finely damped physical controls that used to make the cabin easier to use. Higher trims add more luxurious materials, while the SV Carbon brings carbon fiber, carbon wheels, and other performance-focused details.
• Powertrain: Gas-only trims use mild-hybrid inline-six or V8 powertrains with an eight-speed automatic, full-time 4WD, locking center and rear differentials, and standard air suspension. The base six-cylinder makes 355 horsepower, while higher-output versions add more power and response.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver-attention monitor. There are no safety option packages on higher trims, and there is no hands-free driving system.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 13.1-inch display, Apple CarPlay works in full screen, and the factory navigation and audio interface are strong. The instrument panel is configurable, and the surround-view cameras are very clear.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder powertrain is EPA-rated at 22 mpg combined, with 20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The V8 drops to 19 mpg combined, with 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE, Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid, Twenty Edition, Autobiography, and SV.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Range Rover Sport formula with the 355-horsepower turbocharged inline-six, standard 4WD, locking differentials, and air suspension. It’s the trim to choose if you want the brand experience without chasing the most expensive hardware.
• Dynamic SE: This trim adds the more powerful 395-horsepower version of the inline-six, making it the best-value choice if you want stronger response without jumping into the pricier V8 or plug-in hybrid models.
• Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid: This version adds the plug-in hybrid powertrain with up to 53 miles of EPA-rated gas-free driving and 454 horsepower in hybrid mode. It suits you if you want the most efficiency and the ability to drive short trips on electricity.
• Twenty Edition: This trim pairs the plug-in hybrid system with a special-edition positioning and is aimed at buyers who want the same electrified setup with a more commemorative feel.
• Autobiography: This is the trim to consider if you want the V8, since it unlocks the 523-horsepower BMW-built engine and moves the Range Rover Sport deeper into flagship territory.
• SV: This is the performance flagship, with 626 horsepower, revised suspension hardware, and the most extreme character in the lineup. It’s for you if outright performance matters more than cost.

There are no safety option packages on higher trims, and the standard safety suite is already comprehensive.
