New & Used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport for Sale nearPetersburg, WV

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

It’s positioned as a luxury SUV that leans hard into prestige, performance, and customization, and the tested SV Carbon is described as the fastest and most extreme vehicle Land Rover has ever made. That lines up with the model’s appeal: tasteful, elegant style, impeccable performance on any surface, and unique options and customization. Those strengths help it justify a price that starts around the level of a mid-tier trim of other midsize luxury SUVs.

The trade-offs are real, though. You give up physical controls for critical functions, and the interior uses cheaper materials than the last generation in some areas. Poor reliability is also a notable concern.

Good and great deals account for 38.0% of listings, which suggests you can shop selectively without expecting a bargain-bin market.

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is described as having poor reliability, so you should treat long-term ownership with caution. The model’s performance hardware is substantial, with a mild-hybrid setup, standard 4WD, locking differentials, and adaptive dampers and air springs that can raise the vehicle for off-road use.

The expert data also emphasizes that the SUV can be extremely capable and composed, but that doesn’t offset the reliability concern for used buyers. If you plan to keep one past warranty coverage, the risk of expensive repairs is a meaningful part of the ownership equation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a vehicle with complex suspension, drivetrain, and high-end option content. Focus on wear, tire condition, brake condition, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim and options you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is minimalist, and the lack of physical controls is a major usability trade-off. Base-trim equipment gaps matter here because the model’s appeal depends heavily on how much convenience and luxury content you want.
• Powertrain: Gas-only trims use a mild-hybrid setup with a 48-volt electrical system, and the lineup ranges from a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six to a BMW-built twin-turbo V8 and a high-output SV tune.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver-attention monitor. There are no safety option packages on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 13.1-inch display, and Apple CarPlay works in full screen. The factory navigation and audio interface are also strong points.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder is EPA-rated at 22 mpg combined, 20 mpg city, and 25 mpg highway. The V8 is rated at 19 mpg combined, 16 mpg city, and 23 mpg highway, while plug-in hybrids offer 21 mpg combined when the battery is depleted.

Which 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE, Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid, Battersea Edition, Twenty Edition, and Autobiography.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Range Rover Sport experience with the standard turbocharged inline-six, mild-hybrid setup, 4WD, locking differentials, and the model’s signature air suspension. It makes sense if you want the badge and capability without chasing expensive extras.
• Dynamic SE: This trim adds the electric supercharger for more immediate response and more output, making it the best-value choice if you want stronger performance without jumping to the pricier V8 or SV models.
• Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid: This is the efficiency-focused choice, pairing the inline-six with a battery and electric motor for up to 53 miles of EPA-rated gas-free driving and 454 hp in hybrid mode. It suits you if you want the broadest powertrain flexibility.
• Battersea Edition: This trim standardizes the plug-in hybrid powertrain and sits above the Dynamic SE PHEV, so it’s the pick if you want that electrified setup with a more upscale presentation.
• Twenty Edition: This is the gateway to the V8, which brings 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. Choose it if you want the smoother, stronger engine without going all the way to the SV.
• Autobiography: This is the other V8-equipped route and the more luxurious choice if you want the top-end gas powertrain with a richer trim position.

There are no safety option packages on higher trims.

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The tested SV Carbon is the fastest and most extreme vehicle Land Rover has ever made.
