New & Used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport for Sale nearKannapolis, NC

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns an expert rating of 7.00/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

That score fits a luxury SUV that leans hard into presence, capability, and high-end customization. The 2026 model is positioned at the premium end of the market, with a base price starting at $85,550, and the tested SV Carbon pushes the concept much further with extreme performance and a roughly $202,525 build. It also brings tasteful styling and strong capability on and off the pavement, which are central to its appeal.

The trade-offs are real, though: the lack of physical controls for critical functions makes the cabin less intuitive, and the interior materials are described as cheaper than the last generation.

Good and great deals account for 37.2% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is described as a luxury SUV with strong capability and a broad range of powertrains, but it also carries a poor reliability reputation in the source material. Its performance hardware is substantial, with mild-hybrid gas powertrains, standard 4WD, locking differentials, and adaptive air suspension across the lineup.

The performance setup is robust and highly capable, and the vehicle’s off-road systems are designed for serious use. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a very expensive ownership profile, especially once you move beyond the base trim.

If you buy used, long-term ownership risk is elevated, so you should expect to be especially careful about maintenance history and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even so, you should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-spec examples with more complex hardware. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, suspension behavior, and any evidence that expensive options or performance parts have been used hard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE is the entry point, while higher trims add more power, more equipment, and more expensive hardware. The cabin design is notably stripped of physical controls, so make sure you’re comfortable with the interface before you buy.
• Powertrain: Gas-only trims use mild-hybrid setups, and the lineup includes a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, a more powerful inline-six with an electric supercharger, a plug-in hybrid version, and a BMW-built V8 on higher trims.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver-attention monitor. There are no safety option packages on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 13.1-inch display, and Apple CarPlay works in full screen. The system also supports factory navigation, a clear instrument panel, and a surround-view camera setup with an underbody view.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder is rated at 22 mpg combined (20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway). The V8 returns 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway), while plug-in hybrids offer 21 mpg combined when the battery is depleted.

Which 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE, Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid, Twenty Edition, Autobiography, and SV.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Range Rover Sport experience with the standard inline-six, mild-hybrid setup, 4WD, and the brand’s full-size luxury presence. It makes sense if you want the nameplate without chasing expensive extras.
• Dynamic SE: This trim adds more power and a stronger all-around feel, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers who want a more satisfying drive without jumping into the expensive upper tiers.
• Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid powertrain and the ability to drive on electricity for short trips. It’s the efficiency-focused pick in the lineup.
• Twenty Edition: This trim is the gateway to the V8, so it’s the one to target if you want the stronger engine and a more upscale, special-edition feel.
• Autobiography: This is the luxury-forward V8 choice, aimed at buyers who want the richer powertrain and a more premium overall specification.
• SV: This is the extreme performance model, with the most powerful setup and the most dramatic hardware. It’s for buyers who want the top-end experience and are willing to pay for it.

There are no safety option packages on higher trims.

Should I buy a 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It delivers standout performance and extreme capability, especially in SV form.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a stylish, sportier take on the Range Rover formula with minimal changes.

The bottom line: Choose the 2026 if you want the latest version of this luxury SUV and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition, equipment, and price. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2025 can make sense because it delivers much of the same core Range Rover Sport character with a potentially easier entry point.
