New & Used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport for Sale nearCedar Knolls, NJ

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns an expert rating of 7.00/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

It’s aimed at you if you want a luxury SUV that leans hard into prestige, performance, and customization, and the tested SV Carbon shows how extreme the model can get. The appeal is the combination of tasteful, elegant style, impeccable performance on any surface, and unique options and customization. Those strengths help justify its rarefied pricing and position it as a top-of-class experience.

The trade-offs are real: you give up physical controls for critical functions, the interior uses cheaper materials than the last generation in some areas, and the overall value proposition is limited by its very high price.

Good and great deals account for 39.9% of listings, which suggests there’s still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is described as having poor reliability, so you should approach ownership with caution if you plan to keep it long term. The overview also flags the lack of physical controls and cheaper interior materials than the last generation, which reinforces the idea that this is a high-end SUV with some notable compromises.

From the expert test drive data, the gas-only lineup uses a mild-hybrid setup with a small battery and 48-volt electrical system to reduce engine load and allow seamless stops and restarts. That points to a modern powertrain design, but it doesn’t erase the broader reliability concern.

If you’re buying used, the long-term ownership risk is that expensive repairs and out-of-warranty costs could outweigh the SUV’s strengths.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, and focus closely on condition because this is a high-priced SUV with complex hardware. Pay extra attention to the cabin controls, suspension behavior, tire condition, and any signs of heavy use or deferred maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with the core Range Rover Sport look and feel, while upper trims add more power, more luxury, and more customization. The base trim is also where you’re most likely to feel the absence of some of the richer equipment and materials found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, a more powerful version with an electric supercharger, a plug-in hybrid setup, a BMW-built V8, and an SV-tuned V8. The gas-only trims are mild hybrids, and all versions use an eight-speed automatic with full-time 4WD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver-attention monitor. There are no safety option packages on higher trims, and there is no hands-free driving system.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 13.1-inch display, and Apple CarPlay works in full screen. The factory navigation and audio interface are also strong points, and the instrument panel offers configurable layouts.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder is EPA-rated at 22 mpg combined (20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway). The V8 drops to 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway), while plug-in hybrids offer 21 mpg combined when the battery is depleted.

Which 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE, Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid, Battersea Edition, Twenty Edition, and Autobiography.

Here’s the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Range Rover Sport experience with the standard inline-six, mild-hybrid setup, and the brand’s full-time 4WD hardware. It’s the trim to consider if you want the nameplate and don’t need the extra power or luxury upgrades.
• Dynamic SE: This trim adds the electric supercharger and more output, making it the best-value choice for shoppers who want stronger performance without jumping into the pricier upper tiers.
• Dynamic SE plug-in hybrid: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid powertrain and the ability to drive up to 53 miles on electricity alone. It’s the efficiency-focused pick in the lineup.
• Battersea Edition: This trim standardizes the plug-in hybrid system and sits above the Dynamic SE PHEV, so it’s for you if you want that electrified setup with a more upscale presentation.
• Twenty Edition: This is the V8 gateway, and it’s the trim to buy if you want the BMW-built 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine and the stronger luxury/performance mix that comes with it.
• Autobiography: This is the most upscale non-SV choice and the one to target if you want the V8 with the richest trim positioning before stepping into the extreme SV models.

There are no safety option packages on higher trims.

Should I buy a 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if:

  • 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
  • Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
  • The 2026 SV Carbon is presented as the fastest and most extreme vehicle Land Rover has ever made.

• Consider the 2025 if:

  • The 2025 emphasizes traditional Land Rover style and sportier on-road handling.

• The bottom line: If you want the most dramatic, highest-performance version of the Range Rover Sport and you’re comfortable shopping a high-priced luxury SUV carefully, the 2026 is the stronger target. If you’re more price-sensitive and mainly want the Range Rover Sport’s style and driving character, the 2025 is the easier value play.
