New & Used 2026 Land Rover Defender for Sale near Fort Morgan, CO

Is the 2026 Land Rover Defender a good car?

The 2026 Land Rover Defender earns an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out because it blends serious off-road ability with everyday civility, while still feeling distinctive thanks to its stylish design and multiple body styles. For 2026, you also get subtle styling changes, a larger touchscreen, and new color and accessory options, which freshen the package without changing its core identity.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and the fact that it gets expensive quickly. Even so, the Defender’s mix of toughness and refinement gives you a rare kind of SUV if you want something that can handle rough terrain without feeling stripped out on the road.

With 35.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s a meaningful amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Land Rover Defender reliable?

The 2026 Land Rover Defender is presented as a rugged SUV with everyday civility, and its powertrains and standard four-wheel drive are built around capability rather than simplicity. The turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six adds a 48-volt mild hybrid system that helps improve fuel economy through more robust engine start/stop operation, and the Defender’s off-road hardware is standard across the lineup.

Land Rover also includes a broad set of standard driver-assistance features, which supports day-to-day confidence. For used buyers, the bigger long-term ownership risk is that a premium, capability-focused SUV like this can be costly to keep up over time, especially once warranty coverage is behind you.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Land Rover Defender?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, trail driving, or frequent short trips. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, suspension behavior, and signs that the vehicle’s off-road hardware has seen hard use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Defender’s body styles and appearance choices matter a lot, from the two-door 90 and four-door 110 to the stretched 130, plus special looks like the Trophy Edition and Defender X. Base versions are more straightforward, while higher trims add more visual drama and equipment.
• Powertrain: You can get a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with mild hybrid assistance, or a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. The lineup also includes the Defender Octa with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, and the six-cylinder is the most widely available setup.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a surround-view camera system, and a driver-attention monitor. The safety content does not call out trim-specific gaps.
• Infotainment: For 2026, the Defender gets a 13.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on most trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The Defender 110 is rated at 20 mpg combined with either the turbo-four or turbo-six, the Defender 90 is a little less efficient with the smaller engine, the supercharged V8 is rated at 16 mpg combined, and the Defender Octa is rated at 17 mpg combined.

Which 2026 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2026 Land Rover Defender is offered in 6 trim levels: 90 S, 110, 130, Defender X, Trophy Edition, and Octa.

Here's the short version:

• 90 S: This is the entry point if you want the Defender experience at the lowest starting price. It gives you the core rugged character and is the trim to consider if you care most about value and don’t need the extra space of the longer body styles.
• 110: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it balances the Defender’s capability, everyday usability, and broader powertrain availability. If you want the most well-rounded version, this is the one to start with.
• 130: Choose this if you want the most room and the most family-friendly body style. It’s the right pick when passenger and cargo flexibility matter more than compact size.
• Defender X: This trim is for you if you want a darker, more aggressive look, with extra black trim and a blackout front fascia and hood. It’s mainly about style rather than a different mission.
• Trophy Edition: Pick this if you want the most distinctive retro-inspired appearance, especially the Sandglow Yellow paint that references the Camel Trophy heritage.
• Octa: This is the high-performance choice, with the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, wider stance, and serious hardware for buyers who want the most extreme Defender.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, so you can shop based on body style, powertrain, and appearance without giving up the core driver-assistance coverage.

Is the 2026 Land Rover Defender safe?

The 2026 Land Rover Defender hadn’t received IIHS or NHTSA ratings at the time of writing.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Land Rover makes a strong showing on standard driver assistance, with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a surround-view camera system, and a new driver-attention monitor for 2026. That’s a solid standard safety suite for a used SUV, even though there isn’t a published crash-test result to anchor the rating.

Should I buy a 2026 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It adds subtle styling updates, a larger touchscreen, and new color and accessory options.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers the same rugged versatility with a broader body-style and powertrain spread.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Defender’s formula, the 2026 is the better target because it adds useful updates without changing the SUV’s core appeal. If you’re mainly focused on value and can find a well-kept 2025, that year can make sense for price-sensitive buyers who still want the same basic capability and character.
