New & Used 2026 Kia Sportage for Sale near Elizabethtown, IL

How much does the 2026 Kia Sportage cost?

Prices have softened 10.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,041 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare across trims and conditions.

Is the 2026 Kia Sportage a good car?

The 2026 Kia Sportage earns an expert rating of 7.3/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

It fits buyers who want a compact crossover with revised styling, impressive technology, and strong safety ratings. The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the X-Pro Prestige version does not fully deliver on Kia’s usual value reputation. Even so, the overall package is well-rounded for everyday use rather than excitement.

With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Kia Sportage reliable?

The 2026 Kia Sportage is presented as a long-running nameplate with a current-generation platform that continues to evolve, and the expert assessment emphasizes competent execution rather than major mechanical drama. The non-hybrid 2.5-liter four-cylinder is described as doing just fine for the base powertrain, and the hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions are noted as more refined thanks to their turbocharged and electrified setups.

Kia’s warranty coverage is a major ownership advantage, with a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty. That helps reduce long-term risk for used buyers, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years.

The main long-term ownership risk is that the Sportage’s value proposition is strongest when you shop carefully, since higher trims can push pricing into territory where the payoff is less compelling.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Kia Sportage?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim or more heavily optioned example. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, and whether the equipment level matches the asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the base trim, and wireless phone charging is standard on all but the base LX trim level. X-Line and X-Pro models add digital key functionality, while X-Pro models also use all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels and X-Line models use all-seasons on 19-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: Non-hybrid models use a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque paired with a six-speed automatic. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions use a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor, with the hybrid rated at 232 hp and the plug-in hybrid at 268 hp.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane following assist, and front and rear parking sensors. Higher trims add navigation-based adaptive cruise control, Highway Driving Assist with automated lane centering, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-spot View Monitor.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen are standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with SiriusXM satellite radio, and the system uses a single horizontal display layout.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-hybrid Sportage is rated at 28 mpg combined, with 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway in FWD form. AWD versions are rated at 26 mpg combined, with 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. The X-Pro is rated at 24 mpg combined, with 23 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Kia Sportage trim should I buy?

The 2026 Kia Sportage is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, EX, SX, SX-Prestige, X-Line, and X-Pro Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Sportage experience with the standard 12.3-inch display setup, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full suite of standard safety tech. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable skipping some convenience features.
• EX: This is the trim to target if you want a better-balanced daily driver, since it builds on the base setup without jumping all the way to the pricier luxury-leaning grades. It should suit you if you want a more complete feature set without chasing the top end.
• SX: This trim is where the Sportage starts leaning harder into premium tech, including the Harman Kardon audio system that becomes standard on SX and higher grades. It’s a good fit if you care about a richer cabin experience.
• SX-Prestige: This is the more upscale choice if you want the Sportage’s comfort and tech features pushed further, and it also keeps AWD available as an option. Choose it if you want a more polished version of the standard crossover formula.
• X-Line: This trim adds different front and rear bumpers, digital key functionality, and a more rugged appearance, while also using 19-inch wheels with all-season tires. It’s the best fit if you want style and a tougher look without going full X-Pro.
• X-Pro Prestige: This is the most expensive and most specialized version, with all-terrain tires, 17-inch wheels, and the most off-road-oriented presentation. It’s the right pick only if you specifically want the X-Pro character and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but higher trims add navigation-based adaptive cruise control, Highway Driving Assist, and camera-based blind-spot viewing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Kia Sportage?

The 2026 Kia Sportage sits in a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,041 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,501, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $28,319 sits slightly below last year's $31,734.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you’re a future seller, that also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well you hold the vehicle over time.

Because the market has moved down 10.76% year over year, you should expect buyers to be price-sensitive when it’s your turn to sell.

Is the 2026 Kia Sportage safe?

The 2026 Kia Sportage received the highest Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash testing and four-star ratings for rollover crash performance.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane following assist, and front and rear parking sensors. It also adds fatigue detection, rear-seat reminder alerts, and door-opening alerts for oncoming cars or cyclists.

Higher trims add navigation-based adaptive cruise control, Highway Driving Assist with automated lane centering, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-spot View Monitor. The main caveat is that some of the more advanced convenience and visibility features are reserved for higher trims.

Should I buy a 2026 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.76% compared with last year.
• The refreshed styling and strong safety score make this year especially appealing if you want the latest look and a well-rounded compact crossover.

The bottom line: The 2026 Sportage is the better choice if you want the refreshed styling, strong safety, and a market that has become more favorable for buyers. If you’re mainly chasing the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may still be worth a look, but the 2026 gives you the most current version of the Sportage formula.
