CarGurus Analysis: 2026 Kia Sorento
Summary
With 1,484 currently listed for sale and an average price of $33,696, 37.3% of 2026 Kia Sorentos for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2026 Kia Sorento 2 / 5 stars.
96.3% of 2026 Sorento models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2026 Kia Sorento stands out as a midsize SUV that has grown into a more polished and family-friendly package without losing the value-minded appeal that has long defined the nameplate. In its current form, it has a more aggressive and sporty nose, deeper body contours, and a sharper overall look than before. It also offers three rows of seats, with enough space to comfortably accommodate adults, and its cabin gets a more upscale feel from wood-grained trim and quilted leather upholstery. Standard equipment is generous, too, with features such as smart key with push-button start and smart cruise control on the base LX trim, while higher trims can add items like a blind-spot monitor, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, rear automatic braking, and a surround-view monitor.
Powertrain choices are another part of the Sorento’s appeal. The lineup includes a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder, a 281-horsepower turbocharged upgrade, and a hybrid that combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor for 227 horsepower. The hybrid is the mileage leader at an EPA-estimated 39/35 mpg city/highway, while the base four-cylinder returns 24/29 mpg city/highway and the turbo option is rated at 22/29 mpg city/highway. A plug-in hybrid is also part of the lineup, with up to 32 miles of electric-only range and 261 horsepower. For buyers who want a more rugged look and added capability, the X-Line and X-Pro versions bring features such as all-wheel drive, 20-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, 8.2 inches of ground clearance, and all-terrain tires on the X-Pro SX Prestige AWD.
The 2026 Sorento also has a strong safety story. The fourth-generation model received four out of five stars in most NHTSA tests and five stars in side crashes, and the 2026 model earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. Its biggest tradeoff is that higher-priced trims tend to depreciate more than entry-level models, even though the Sorento as a whole loses value faster than the average SUV in its class. Still, for shoppers who want space, style, and a broad range of powertrains and features, the 2026 Kia Sorento is one of the more distinctive choices in its segment.

Reviewed a 2026 Kia X-Line SX Prestige AWD on Aug 9, 2026
Honestly I'm concerned because at first I didn't know Kia had a recall notice out for 2026 Sorrento's that involved electronic and mechanical issues. That's a serious potential threat to safety. I understandit depends on the vehicle and if whether it's been addressed but that is still a scary thought of losing control of your vehicle
