CarGurus Analysis: 2026 Kia K5
Summary
With 1,607 currently listed for sale and an average price of $28,773, 32.5% of 2026 Kia K5 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2026 Kia K5 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2026 Kia K5 stands out as a midsize sedan that leans hard into style without giving up everyday practicality. Its design is more dramatic than the Optima it replaced, with narrow LED headlights, an inset grille, and taillights that stretch across the rear deck lid. The fastback-like roofline adds to the sporty look, while the cabin keeps things usable with a trunk that can hold up to 16 cubic feet of cargo and a wide opening that makes loading easier. Rear-seat space is adequate for adults, though the panoramic sunroof reduces headroom and the lower roofline can make entry and exit a little tighter.
Inside, the 2026 K5 benefits from the refresh that brought a digital instrument panel and a standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen, along with a new multi-function panel for climate and audio/navigation shortcuts. The materials are described as competitive for the class, with plenty of soft-touch surfaces, sturdy construction, and convincing synthetic leather upholstery. Under the hood, the refreshed base engine is a 2.5-liter non-turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, while the GT uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is available on some trims, which is unusual for the class, and the K5’s driving character is a mix of confident handling and a comfortable ride.
That balance is a big part of the K5’s appeal. It offers strong value, a good amount of standard equipment, and useful features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the base LX, plus available driver-assistance tech like adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera. At the same time, it has some clear limitations: there is no hybrid option, the GT is not as sporty as its performance image suggests, and larger wheels can hurt comfort. Even so, the 2026 Kia K5 remains distinctive because it combines eye-catching design, solid practicality, and a broad range of features in a way that makes it easy to recommend to shoppers who want a sedan that feels a little less ordinary.
