New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale near New Mexico

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

That score fits a three-row SUV that still gives you the power, technology, and practicality many midsize shoppers want, even though it has been sold essentially unchanged since 2010. If you want V8 power and sound, the Durango has a clear appeal, and its strong exterior styling helps it stand out. The trade-offs are clear too: dated interior materials and poor fuel economy are two of the biggest drawbacks.

For shoppers who value a familiar layout, capability, and relatively good pricing over modern polish, the Durango still makes sense. Good and great deals account for 42.8% of listings, which supports its value case.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Durango’s long-running design and familiar controls can make it feel straightforward to live with, and its performance hardware is a major part of its appeal. The Durango’s powertrain lineup is built around strong output, and the eight-speed automatic transmission is described as smooth and unobtrusive.

The Durango also includes a few useful ownership perks in its equipment mix, including included SiriusXM live traffic and travel info for five years. Even so, its age and dated structure mean you should expect more long-term ownership risk than you would with a newer design, especially if you plan to keep it for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with performance upgrades. Focus on overall condition, because the Durango’s age means interior wear, suspension feel, and maintenance history matter a lot.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT is the most stripped-down version, with a no-name six-speaker stereo, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The GT Plus adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad, while the GT Premium adds a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 makes 360 hp and 390 lb-ft and raises towing capacity to 8,700 pounds. The 6.4-liter V8 and supercharged 6.2-liter V8 are also available on higher-performance versions.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L, over-the-air updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay; Android Auto is wired.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD V6 is rated at 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 returns 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, and the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 drops to 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 6 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, GT Plus AWD Hemi V8, GT Premium AWD Hemi V8, Hellcat, and Hellcat Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Durango’s core formula at the lowest price. It comes with the V6, rear-wheel drive, and the standard 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, but it is the most basic version in terms of audio and comfort equipment.
• GT Plus: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad. If you want a more complete family SUV without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the trim to target.
• GT Plus AWD Hemi V8: This trim is for you if you want the GT Plus equipment with the stronger Hemi V8 and all-wheel drive. It also adds high-beam assist, a sunroof, and Nappa leather.
• GT Premium AWD Hemi V8: This is the most well-rounded upscale choice, adding a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo. It is the trim to consider if you want the richest everyday experience without going all the way to the performance models.
• Hellcat: Choose this only if you want the extreme performance character. It brings the supercharged V8, racing stripes, huge Brembo brakes, sport suspension, and adaptive dampers.
• Hellcat Jailbreak: This is the most customizable performance version, and it is the one to consider if you want the Hellcat experience with more available equipment and options.

Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak; automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard, and the Durango also includes a driver’s knee airbag and a central side airbag between the front seats. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.

The bigger concern is that the Durango’s dated body structure means it is not expected to perform as well in a crash as newer rivals designed around more recent IIHS tests. That age-related safety gap is a key reason its expert safety score is so low.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 42.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Choose the 2026 if: Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

• Choose the 2026 if: It delivers V8 power and sound in a three-row SUV with strong exterior styling.

• Consider the 2025 if: It remains a likable, roomy, and practical three-row SUV with a modern infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the newest available Durango and care most about value, performance, and a broad used inventory, the 2026 is the cleaner pick. If you are shopping more for price and can live with the older final-year formula, the 2025 is still worth a look.
