New & Used 2026 Dodge Charger for Sale nearProtection, KS

Is the 2026 Dodge Charger a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Charger earns an expert rating of 7.17/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It arrives as a modern take on the American muscle-car formula, with 550 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque from a turbocharged SIXPACK High Output inline-six, plus standard all-wheel drive and drive modes that keep burnouts, drifting, and donuts part of the experience. It also offers two- and four-door body styles and enough interior room for adult passengers, so it has some real-world practicality for the right buyer.

The trade-offs are just as clear: poor visibility, large exterior dimensions, and interior materials that feel cheap. Those drawbacks make it less appealing as a broad family choice, even if it has a strong personality and serious straight-line punch.

Is the 2026 Dodge Charger reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Charger is presented as a modern, high-output muscle car with standard all-wheel drive and a turbocharged inline-six that delivers strong power throughout the rev range. Its performance setup is described as robust and confidence-inspiring, with standard Brembo brakes and a chassis tuned to stay planted while still feeling lively.

The cabin and tech also suggest a fairly contemporary ownership experience, with easy-to-use software and standard driver-assistance features that can reduce day-to-day stress. If maintenance support is a priority, the available ownership details do not add any extra service perk language here.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is still a high-performance car with a lot of power and complexity, so condition and maintenance history matter more than they would on a mainstream sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Charger?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 100% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with clean inventory, you should still run a history report and inspect the car carefully before you buy. Pay close attention to how the body, wheels, and interior have held up, since the Charger’s size and performance focus can make wear and parking damage more likely. You should also verify that the car’s technology and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is spacious and modern, but the interior materials feel cheap, and the car’s large dimensions make parking patience important. The two-door body style is especially long, while the four-door shape is the more practical choice for families.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a turbocharged SIXPACK High Output inline-six with 550 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with an eight-speed automatic, standard all-wheel drive, launch control, line lock, and a rear-wheel-drive mode for more playful driving.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assist is standard and can manage acceleration and braking while helping keep the car centered in its lane. Standard equipment also includes Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Vulnerable Road Users Detection, Active Lane Management, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Drowsy Driver Detection. The Scat Pack Plus adds Turn Signal Active Blind Spot View and a 360-degree camera.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard, along with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Uconnect 5 includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Plus models add built-in navigation and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA had not yet published fuel economy estimates for the gasoline-powered Charger.

Which 2026 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Charger is offered in 2 trim levels: R/T and Scat Pack.

Here's the short version:

• R/T: This is the entry point if you want the Charger’s standard all-wheel-drive setup and muscle-car character without stepping up to the highest-output version. It gives you the core formula, but the available information points to the Scat Pack as the more fully realized performance choice.
• Scat Pack: This is the best-value trim if you want the full Charger experience. It brings 550 horsepower, standard all-wheel drive, launch control, line lock, rear-wheel-drive mode, Brembo brakes, and the performance-focused hardware and software that make the car feel special. If you want the strongest mix of speed, capability, and character, this is the one to target.

The Scat Pack Plus adds Turn Signal Active Blind Spot View and a 360-degree camera, which are especially helpful given the Charger’s large size.

Is the 2026 Dodge Charger safe?

The 2026 Dodge Charger has not yet been tested by either NHTSA or IIHS for crashworthiness.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes Active Driving Assist, which can manage acceleration and braking and help keep the car centered in its lane. You also get Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Vulnerable Road Users Detection, Active Lane Management, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Drowsy Driver Detection.

The Scat Pack Plus adds Turn Signal Active Blind Spot View and a 360-degree camera, which are especially useful because the Charger is large and can be awkward to place in tight spaces. The main caveat is that the car’s size and visibility limitations make those aids more valuable than they might be on a smaller sedan.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 100% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It stands out as a uniquely powerful and potentially practical American muscle car, with 550 horsepower, standard all-wheel drive, and two- and four-door body styles.

The bottom line: If you want the Charger’s modern muscle-car formula right now, the 2026 is the year to focus on because it combines huge power, standard all-wheel drive, and real cabin space. If you are more price-sensitive, you can still shop the market carefully and look for the best-equipped example that fits your budget, especially since the current inventory includes a meaningful share of good or great deals.
