New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearLamesa, TX

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns an expert rating of 7.3/10. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

You’re looking at a three-row crossover SUV that’s built to cover family-hauling duty with a spacious interior, a pleasant ride, and a strong safety feature set. That makes it a good fit if you want crossover comfort and everyday usability without moving up to a larger truck-based SUV.

The trade-offs are clear: the engine is gruff, power is only mediocre, and the Traverse is too big to handle especially well. It also can’t tow as much as full-size body-on-frame SUVs, so you’re giving up some capability in exchange for space and comfort.

With 39.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is presented as a family-focused SUV that emphasizes comfort, safety, and everyday usability, which supports a practical ownership profile for used buyers. Its ride quality is generally good, and the powertrain is described as adequate rather than strained, so it should feel manageable in normal driving.

Chevrolet also includes standard active noise cancellation, though it doesn’t fully mask the engine’s rough character. The available maintenance perk language is not present in the provided data.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Traverse’s size, engine noise, and only average power may make it feel less refined over time than you’d want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with added equipment. Focus on overall condition, because the Traverse’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and whether its comfort and tech features still work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LT is already well equipped with cloth upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a hands-free power liftgate. Higher trims add more comfort, including a six-way power front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated rear seats.
• Powertrain: Every Traverse uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, and AWD is available for $2,000.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitors with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and rear parking sensors. The Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, a driver-attention monitor, and the Bose audio system, while the Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-camera mirror.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard Google Maps navigation. Wireless phone charging and remote start are also standard.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined, while AWD drops ratings to 20/24/21 mpg.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 4 trim levels: LT, Z71, High Country, RS.

Here’s the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice because it gives you the Traverse’s core strengths at the lowest entry point: lots of space, excellent technology, and plenty of safety features. It’s the trim to start with if you want the most affordable version that still feels well equipped.
• Z71: This is the off-road-oriented choice, with red front tow hooks and knobby all-terrain tires. It also comes standard with AWD, so it’s the trim to consider if you want the most rugged-looking Traverse and a bit more moderate off-road ability.
• High Country: This is the comfort-focused upgrade, adding more upscale cabin equipment such as leather upholstery, heated rear seats, driver’s seat memory, and a power tilt/telescoping steering column. It suits you if you want a more premium family SUV.
• RS: This is the blacked-out style trim, with black exterior trim and a more distinctive appearance. Choose it if you want the Traverse’s utility with a sportier visual theme.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, and the available driver-assistance upgrades add Super Cruise and other convenience features if you want more advanced tech.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It combines a spacious cabin, strong tech, and a top-tier safety score.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds the upscale High Country trim and standard trailering equipment.

The bottom line: The 2026 is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of space, technology, and safety in the current Traverse lineup. If you’re shopping mainly on price, the 2025 can still make sense, especially if you find one with the equipment you want at a lower asking price.
