New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearArdmore, OK

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It makes a strong case for itself if you want a straightforward midsize pickup with a crew-cab, short-bed layout, one powertrain, and a limited trim lineup that is easier to shop than many rivals. The Colorado’s appeal also comes through in its stylish design, fun-to-drive manners, and approachable tech.

The trade-offs are real, though: poor fuel economy and interior materials that feel cheap are two of the biggest knocks, and the cabin’s ergonomic design is also a weak point. Even so, the Colorado still looks like a convincing choice if you value a polished, uncomplicated truck with a clear use case.

35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is presented as a simple, single-powertrain truck with a limited configuration range, which can make ownership easier to understand and shop. Its turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic are the only powertrain combination, and the truck’s straightforward lineup reduces complexity compared with more option-heavy rivals.

On the downside, the Colorado’s poor fuel economy can make day-to-day ownership less satisfying, especially if you spend a lot of time in heavier trims or off-road setups. The expert evaluation also notes that the truck’s value is undercut by its fuel consumption and safety results.

Chevrolet does include a free scheduled maintenance visit, which is a small ownership perk. For used buyers, the long-term risk is less about mechanical complexity and more about whether you can live with the truck’s efficiency and overall running costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are looking at a truck that has been used off-road or for towing. Pay close attention to tire wear, suspension condition, brake feel, and any signs of hard use in the cabin and bed.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with WT, which forms the foundation for Trail Boss, while LT serves as the basis for Z71. Higher trims add off-road capability, and ZR2 brings even more features and extra off-roading hardware. The base setup is the simplest, while the upper trims are the ones to inspect most carefully for wear from harder use.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Output is 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, with up to 21 mpg in combined city and highway driving on RWD models, up to 7,700 pounds of towing capacity, and a maximum payload rating of 1,846 pounds on RWD models.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. A Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, a rear pedestrian alert system, and a high-definition surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The Colorado uses an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Wireless smartphone charging is available, and certain trims add front and rear USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck returns up to 21 mpg in combined city and highway driving on RWD models, but the expert test drive recorded 17.5 mpg in mixed driving on a Trail Boss. Fuel economy is one of the Colorado’s biggest weaknesses, especially on heavier or more aggressive setups.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, Trail Boss, LT, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the simplest starting point and the trim that makes the Colorado’s value story easiest to access. It is the best fit if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup and do not need the extra off-road hardware or premium features found higher up.
• Trail Boss: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds off-road-tuned suspension, a two-inch factory lift, a wider stance, all-terrain tires, Off-Road and Terrain driving modes, and hill descent control. It suits you if you want a more capable and more distinctive Colorado without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• LT: This trim serves as the basis for Z71, so it is the stepping stone if you want to build toward a better-equipped truck without starting at the bottom. It makes sense if you want a more flexible middle ground.
• Z71: This is the trim to consider if you want a more polished and better-equipped Colorado than the entry trims, while still staying below the most extreme off-road model.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road version, with even more features and extra off-roading hardware, including 33-inch mud-terrain tires and Multimatic DSSV dampers. It is the right choice if off-road capability matters more to you than everyday comfort or value.

The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, so it is worth seeking out if you want the most complete driver-assistance setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you should shop carefully and compare condition, equipment, and pricing across listings.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The Colorado earns a three-star protection rating in side-impact testing for the driver and front passenger seating positions, and it has three-star rollover resistance with both RWD and 4WD. The IIHS gave the Colorado’s Chevy Safety Assist systems a Poor front crash prevention rating.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, while the Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, a rear pedestrian alert system, and a high-definition surround-view camera system.

The main caveat is the weak crash-prevention result from IIHS, which is a meaningful concern if safety is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It keeps the Colorado’s simple lineup, polished look, and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers strong off-pavement appeal and a powerful standard turbocharged engine.

The bottom line: If you want the current Colorado’s straightforward lineup and updated appearance, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you are shopping mainly on price and can find a better deal on a 2025, that older model is worth a look for buyers who want value first.
