New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearAltus AFB, OK

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 6.67/10 expert rating, and it makes a strong case for itself if you want a midsize pickup that keeps the formula simple: crew cab, short bed, one powertrain, and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

That simplicity is part of the appeal, and the truck’s strengths show up in the areas that matter most to many shoppers: stylish design, fun-to-drive manners, and easy-to-use technology. The trade-offs are just as clear, though, with poor fuel economy and cheap-feeling interior materials holding it back from being a class leader.

If you want a straightforward midsize truck that’s easy to understand and doesn’t overwhelm you with choices, the Colorado fits that brief well. The market also shows 33.4% good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is presented as a mostly unchanged truck, which can be reassuring if you prefer a familiar formula rather than a heavily revised model year. Its straightforward setup — one engine, one body style, and a limited trim structure — also keeps the ownership experience relatively easy to follow.

From the expert testing notes, the Colorado’s turbocharged four-cylinder is lively enough, and the truck’s technology and driving manners are described as well executed overall. The performance write-up also notes that the engine is responsive enough for the truck’s weight, even if fuel use rises quickly when you ask for more power.

Chevrolet also includes a free service visit with purchase, which is a small ownership perk that can help early maintenance feel less burdensome.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Colorado’s poor fuel economy and some of its rougher execution points may make it less satisfying over time if you plan to rack up a lot of miles.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that may have seen towing, off-road use, or heavy commuting. Pay close attention to tire wear, suspension condition, brake feel, and any signs that the truck has been used hard. It’s also worth checking that the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and lighting equipment all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT is the foundation, the LT underpins the Z71, and the Trail Boss and ZR2 add more off-road capability. Base-trim trucks can feel sparse compared with higher trims.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic. It makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, with up to 21 mpg combined in RWD models and up to 7,700 pounds of towing capacity.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. The available Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The Colorado uses an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck returns up to 21 mpg combined in RWD form, and the test truck averaged 17.5 mpg during evaluation.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value-focused starting point, and it gives you the Colorado’s core formula without extra frills. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it serves as the basis for the Z71 and adds a more polished starting point than the WT. If you want a balanced daily driver with room to build up, this is the trim to target.
• Trail Boss: This trim leans into off-road capability with a factory lift, wider stance, all-terrain tires, Off-Road and Terrain driving modes, and hill descent control. It suits you if you want a more rugged Colorado without going all the way to the top.
• Z71: This trim is the step up if you want a more feature-rich truck than the LT-based setup, while still staying short of the most extreme off-road model.
• ZR2: This is the most capable off-road version, with even more off-road hardware, including 33-inch mud-terrain tires and Multimatic DSSV dampers. Choose it if off-road performance is your priority.

The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, so it’s worth seeking out if you want a more complete safety setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have some room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,501 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 95.4% of listings are accident-free.

That combination suggests you can be selective, but you should still compare condition, equipment, and price closely before making an offer.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The Colorado earns three-star protection in side-impact testing for the driver and front passenger seating positions, and it has three-star rollover resistance with both RWD and 4WD. The IIHS gave the Colorado’s Chevy Safety Assist systems a Poor front crash prevention rating.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. The available Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, while the Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and a high-definition surround-view camera system.

The main caveat is that the crash-test results are disappointing, and the Colorado does not offer lane-centering assist or Super Cruise.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It keeps the Colorado’s simple, tech-forward formula with mostly unchanged hardware and a few small updates.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It emphasizes broader off-road appeal and a more adventurous setup.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the Colorado’s familiar formula, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you’re shopping mainly on price and find a better-equipped 2025 at a stronger discount, that older model can still make sense.
