New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearAlbuquerque, NM

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — you rate it 5/5, and our experts rate it 6.7/10. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10. The 2026 Colorado makes a strong case in the midsize pickup segment with a simple lineup, one powertrain, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and crew-cab, short-bed packaging. It also stands out for its stylish design, fun-to-drive character, and easy-to-use technology. Trade-offs include poor fuel economy and interior materials that feel cheap, along with an ergonomic design that is not especially strong. Even so, it remains a well-rounded choice for you if you value a clean, easy-to-understand truck lineup. Good and great deals account for 36.2% of listings.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The Colorado is presented as a straightforward truck with one powertrain and a mostly unchanged 2026 update, which can make ownership feel simpler than with a more complicated lineup. Its performance notes describe the turbocharged engine as lively enough, and the truck’s tech and controls are generally easy to use. The cost-effectiveness notes also mention one free service visit with purchase. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that poor fuel economy and some quality concerns can add up over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies. You should still run a vehicle history report, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, and focus on how the truck has been used and maintained. Pay close attention to trim-specific equipment, tire and suspension condition, and whether the truck’s features match the way you plan to drive it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT forms the foundation, the LT serves as the basis of the Z71, and higher trims add off-road capability. The ZR2 sits at the top with even more features and extra off-roading hardware. Base-trim equipment gaps include halogen headlights on the Trail Boss, and the cabin can feel sparse and plastic-heavy.
• Powertrain: Every 2026 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and rear-wheel-drive models return up to 21 mpg in combined city and highway driving.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The Colorado uses an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Wireless smartphone charging is available, and some trims add front and rear USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo four returns up to 21 mpg combined in rear-wheel-drive models, and the test truck was rated at 19 mpg combined. The review also notes that fuel economy is poor, especially with larger tires and a lifted suspension.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the Colorado’s core capability without paying for extra appearance or off-road hardware. It’s the trim to consider if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it serves as the basis for the Z71 and gives you a more flexible starting point for comfort and equipment. If you want a balanced Colorado without jumping straight into the more specialized off-road trims, this is the one to look at first.
• Trail Boss: This trim adds off-road-tuned suspension, a two-inch factory lift, a wider stance, all-terrain tires, Off-Road and Terrain modes, and hill descent control. It suits you if you want a more rugged setup and can live with the truck’s stiffer ride and basic headlights.
• Z71: This is the step up if you want a more capable and better-equipped Colorado without going all the way to the top off-road model. It builds on the LT foundation and is the trim to consider if you want a more rounded mix of equipment and capability.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road version, with extra off-roading hardware and 33-inch mud-terrain tires plus Multimatic DSSV dampers. Choose it if off-road performance matters most and you’re willing to pay for the most specialized setup.

The Safety Package adds blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Chevy Safety Assist suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Colorado’s simple lineup, adds a new Bronze Accent Package, and drops the snorkel and rubber bed mat options.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a right-sized crew cab with strong off-road appeal and a powerful standard turbo engine.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the Colorado’s straightforward formula, the 2026 is the better default choice. If you’re shopping mainly on price and can find a cleaner or cheaper 2025, that model still gives you much of the same core appeal.
