Is the 2026 BMW M4 a good car?

The 2026 BMW M4 is a high-performance coupe or convertible that blends serious speed with everyday usability. It stands out for its wide-body stance, extra air vents, motorsport-inspired details, and a cabin that feels modern and upscale with heated M Sport seats, leather trim, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch driver display, and a 10.25-inch center display.

It also brings real performance hardware to match the image. The standard model uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 473 horsepower, and BMW makes Adaptive M Suspension standard, which adds adjustability to the car’s character. If you want a performance car that still works as a daily driver, the M4 fits that brief well, though its styling is divisive and higher-spec versions can get expensive.

With 36.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of market opportunities to compare.

Is the 2026 BMW M4 reliable?

The 2026 BMW M4 is presented as a well-equipped, broadly usable performance car with a premium-feeling cabin and standard Adaptive M Suspension. Its appeal comes from combining strong performance with everyday usability rather than from being a stripped-down specialty car.

That said, it is still a high-performance model with expensive hardware and high-spec variants that can be costly. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is mainly tied to the complexity and expense that come with a performance coupe or convertible.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 BMW M4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a performance car where prior use matters. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard driving, and whether the car’s equipment and maintenance history match the way you plan to use it.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 BMW M4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

Should I buy a 2026 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers more configuration breadth and a slightly more established used-market profile.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with strong deal availability and clean inventory, the 2026 is the primary path to consider. If you are more price-sensitive and want to widen your search, the 2025 is the better secondary option to compare.
