Is the 2026 BMW M4 a good car?

The 2026 BMW M4 is a high-performance coupe or convertible that blends serious speed with everyday usability. It uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, with 473 horsepower in standard models and 503 horsepower plus 479 lb-ft of torque in Competition versions.

BMW also gives you a six-speed manual on standard versions, an eight-speed automatic on Competition models, and standard all-wheel drive on M4 Competition models through M xDrive. Adaptive M Suspension is standard, and the cabin includes heated M Sport seats, leather trim, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch driver display, and a 10.25-inch center display.

For you, that means the M4 is a strong fit if you want a sharp, high-tech performance car that still works as a daily driver. The styling is bold and won’t suit everyone, but the performance and equipment list are compelling. 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 BMW M4 reliable?

The 2026 BMW M4 is presented as a high-performance coupe or convertible that balances serious speed with everyday usability. It also benefits from a well-equipped cabin and a drivetrain lineup that gives you flexibility between manual, automatic, rear-drive, and all-wheel-drive setups.

That said, this is still a premium performance car, so long-term ownership risk is higher than with a mainstream coupe or sedan. If you buy used, you should expect maintenance and repair costs to matter more than they would on a lower-performance model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 BMW M4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s condition matches its mileage and asking price. Prioritize a careful inspection of the bodywork, tires, brakes, and interior wear, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence, since performance cars can vary a lot from one example to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 BMW M4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 168 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

Should I buy a 2026 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a broad mix of body styles, drivetrains, and transmissions.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest used M4 with strong market availability and clean inventory, the 2026 BMW M4 is the primary path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look because it still gives you the M4’s core performance and flexibility.
