Summary
With 245 currently listed for sale and an average price of $92,708, 31.0% of 2026 BMW 8 Series listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2026 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, and it also benefits from excellent rear passenger room. Those strengths make it appealing to buyers who want a car that feels upscale and capable without giving up everyday usability.
It is also distinctive for the breadth of its powertrain lineup. The available engines include a 3.0-liter inline-six with 394 horsepower, a 4.4-liter V8 with 536 hp, and plug-in hybrid versions rated at 483 hp and 560 hp. That range gives the 2026 BMW 8 Series a broad performance spread, while the mild-hybrid systems help support fuel economy. The tradeoffs are familiar for this class: options can be expensive, depreciation is high, and the turning circle is poor.

The 2026 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, and it also benefits from excellent rear passenger room.
That combination makes it a strong fit if you want something upscale and capable without sacrificing everyday usability. Is the 2026 BMW 8 Series reliable?
The 2026 BMW 8 Series is presented as a polished, high-tech luxury grand tourer with a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, plus excellent rear passenger room. Its broad powertrain lineup and mild-hybrid support also point to a car engineered for strong performance with some attention to efficiency.
At the same time, the same tradeoffs that come with this class still matter: expensive options, high depreciation, and a poor turning circle. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about cost exposure and depreciation than basic usability.
What should I look for when buying a used 2026 BMW 8 Series?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury car with expensive options and complex equipment. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s features and trim level justify the asking price.

The bottom line: The 2026 BMW 8 Series is the better choice if you want the strongest mix of performance, cabin polish, and everyday usability in this lineup. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be the better path, especially if you can find a well-kept example with the equipment you want at a lower asking price.
