Is the 2026 BMW 8 Series a good car?

The 2026 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, and it also benefits from excellent rear passenger room.

That combination makes it a strong fit if you want something upscale and capable without sacrificing everyday usability. It is also distinctive for its broad powertrain lineup, with available engines ranging from a 3.0-liter inline-six with 394 horsepower to a 4.4-liter V8 with 536 hp, plus plug-in hybrid versions rated at 483 hp and 560 hp.

The tradeoffs are familiar for this class: options can be expensive, depreciation is high, and the turning circle is poor. On the market side, 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.
