CarGurus Analysis: 2026 Audi A5
Summary
With 1,023 currently listed for sale and an average price of $53,070, 41.8% of 2026 Audi A5 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
98.4% of 2026 Audi A5 listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2026 Audi A5 stands out as a stylish luxury car that now serves a broader role than earlier versions of the nameplate. It is offered only as a five-door hatchback, and Audi says it has more room inside than the second-generation version thanks to a larger body. The hatchback tailgate also gives it useful cargo space, which helps make the A5 feel more practical without giving up its upscale character.
Performance is centered on a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine aided by a 48-volt hybrid system. In this application it makes 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, with power sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Audi also gives the car a stiffer chassis and suspension tuning that contribute to excellent handling, while the standard steel suspension keeps the setup straightforward. Buyers who want more performance can look to the S5, which uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder with 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.
Inside, the 2026 A5 leans heavily into technology. Audi’s Digital Stage includes an 11.9-inch Virtual Cockpit, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and an available 10.9-inch passenger display, while the Audi Assistant voice system adds natural-language control. Standard equipment is generous, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and a power liftgate. Safety equipment is also strong, and the 2026 A5 earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS. Its main drawbacks are that it is no longer offered as a coupe or convertible, and the most advanced comfort and convenience features are reserved for higher trims.
