Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2025 Volvo XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover that blends clean Scandinavian design with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency. It is also a five-passenger SUV, which makes it a practical choice if you want a smaller luxury vehicle without giving up everyday usability.

Volvo’s own summary points to standard safety tech, luxurious amenities, and fuel-efficient powertrains as core reasons for its appeal. The XC60’s long-running popularity reinforces that formula, and its standard equipment helps it feel well equipped for daily use.

39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2025 Volvo XC60’s appeal is rooted in its standard safety tech, luxurious amenities, and fuel-efficient powertrains. It also keeps the second-generation formula focused on four-cylinder powertrains and a plug-in hybrid option, which supports its efficient and practical character.

That said, you should still think about long-term ownership risk as a used buyer, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for many years and want to minimize repair surprises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the seller’s claims. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with a complex service history.

Focus on overall condition, including signs of wear in the cabin, how smoothly the powertrain behaves, and whether all features work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a strong example.

• Deal availability: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,566 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,055, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $42,358 sits slightly below last year's $42,600.

That small decline suggests the XC60 is holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign because it points to a market that is relatively predictable.

If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should have a reasonable path to resale later. The key is to avoid overpaying now, since the current market is already close to last year’s level.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• New Car UX infotainment with an 11.2-inch touchscreen and Google Gemini integration modernizes the cabin.

The 2025 is the better pick if you want a stable market, strong inventory quality, and a familiar XC60 formula. If you are more focused on updated tech and a fresher cabin experience, the 2026 is the better alternative. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2025 remains the more practical shopping target.
