CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Toyota Corolla
overall
Summary
With 198 currently listed for sale near Minneapolis, MN and an average price of $22,973.00, 78.8% of 2025 Toyota Corollas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Corolla stands out as a straightforward, affordable car that still manages to feel modern. It has a deserved reputation for reliability, and it pairs that with infotainment and safety technology that help it feel more up to date than its bargain price might suggest. For buyers who want a compact car that is easy to live with and broadly appealing, that combination is a major part of its charm.
It is also notable for being more rewarding to drive than the Corolla nameplate’s old reputation might imply. The current 12th-generation model is described as more stylish, technologically advanced, and enjoyable to drive than previous Corollas, and the 2025 Corolla FX sedan adds exclusive design details along with sport-tuned steering and suspension. At the same time, it is not without drawbacks: the car is called noisy, its stereo is lacking, and poor fuel economy is listed among its weaknesses.

Reviewed a 2025 Toyota LE FWD on May 24, 2026
The price was good. As far as features inside the vehicle. I expected more. They are as minimal as it gets. If you are looking for a vehicle to get you from point A to point B? That is going to save you a ton of money and is as dependable as it gets. This is the one. If you are the kind of person who likes an interior that is going to spoil you? You won't find it here.

How much does the 2025 Toyota Corolla cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $22,972 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,157.97 |
| Year-Round High | $23,563.83 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,562 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.51% |
Prices have softened 2.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 7,936 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $21,157.97, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla a good car?
It is a solid choice if you want an affordable compact car that feels more modern than its price suggests, with a 3/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating.
The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.
The Corolla’s appeal comes from its straightforward, easy-to-live-with character, plus infotainment and safety tech that make it feel more up to date than a bare-bones commuter. It is also described as more stylish, technologically advanced, and enjoyable to drive than earlier Corollas, and the FX sedan adds sport-tuned steering and suspension for a more engaging feel.
The trade-offs are clear: it is noisy, the stereo is lacking, and poor fuel economy is one of its weaknesses.
For you, that means the Corolla makes the most sense if you value practicality, modern features, and broad everyday appeal more than excitement or refinement.
34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla reliable?
The 2025 Corolla leans on a simple mechanical setup and a long-standing reputation for reliability, which should help keep ownership straightforward.
Its CVT with a launch gearset is the most unusual mechanical piece, but the rest of the car is described as mechanically simple. Toyota also backs it with a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and it includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles.
The performance and ownership notes point in the same direction: the Corolla should be affordable to own over time, and Toyota’s maintenance perk helps reduce early service costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about choosing a car that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by heavy daily use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Corolla?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the car’s condition, especially if you are looking at a lower-priced example or one that has seen a lot of commuting. Focus on signs of wear that could affect comfort, noise, or drivability.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The FX special edition adds exclusive design details, a lowered ride height, 18-inch wheels, blacked-out exterior accents, a decklid spoiler, and a Moonstone-color interior with cloth upholstery. It sits above the LE and SE but below the XSE, and the SE is described as the sweet spot if you want a better balance of features and value.
- Powertrain: The gas Corolla uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, paired with a Dynamic Shift CVT. The setup is adequate for daily driving, but it is not class-leading for power, and hard acceleration can bring noticeable drivetrain noise.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam headlights, road sign recognition, and Proactive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.
- Infotainment: A 10.5-inch touchscreen is available, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. Toyota also offers connected services, including Safety Connect standard on every Corolla, plus available Drive Connect, Remote Connect, and Wi-Fi Connect.
- Fuel efficiency: On our evaluation loop, the Corolla FX averaged 32.2 mpg, and Toyota lists 34 mpg combined driving for this setup.
Which 2025 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Corolla is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, SE, XSE.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, but the available information points to the LE as the most basic choice. If you want the lowest-cost way into the Corolla, this is the trim to start with, though it does not get the extra style or value balance Toyota highlights for the SE.
- SE: This is the best-value trim. Toyota specifically calls it the sweet spot because it lets you keep the car relatively simple while still leaving room for appealing option packages, and it avoids the plain-vanilla feel of the base LE.
- XSE: This is the most feature-rich gas trim mentioned here. It is the trim to consider if you want the upper end of the Corolla lineup and the added equipment that comes with it, including the available premium audio system and the highest level of connected-service access noted in the data.
Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Corolla?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.
- Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 7,936 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.51% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 86.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,157.97, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Corolla's resale value?
The current average of $22,972 sits slightly below last year's $23,562.
That softer pricing suggests the Corolla is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively enough to create a seller’s market right now. If you own one, you should expect the market to reward clean condition, strong maintenance history, and desirable equipment more than mileage alone.
For a future seller, the current trend means timing matters less than presentation. A well-kept Corolla should still be easy to move, but you may need to price it competitively if you want to stand out.
Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla safe?
The 2025 Corolla earns five-star ratings in all crash tests from NHTSA, along with a four-star rollover resistance rating.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam headlights, road sign recognition, and Proactive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.
The main caveat is that those two crash-avoidance features are not standard on most trims, even though they are among the most effective at reducing crashes.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.51% compared with last year.
- The 2025 stands out for being more stylish, technologically advanced, and rewarding to drive than earlier Corollas, while the FX sedan adds exclusive design details and sport-tuned steering and suspension.
The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the Corolla’s modern tech, safety, and improved driving feel, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025 gives you a strong mix of value, features, and broad appeal.
