Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Camry marks the start of the model’s ninth generation and arrives as a hybrid-only sedan. That alone makes it distinctive, especially for buyers who want a mainstream family car with a strong emphasis on efficiency. Toyota also gives it a new look, new features, and a new hybrid powertrain for 2025, helping the Camry reset its baseline as a high-selling midsize sedan.
Its appeal is rooted in the qualities that have long made the Camry a favorite among families: reliability, safety, and broad value. The 2025 model is described as competitively priced and fuel-efficient, and all-wheel drive is available on every trim. Those strengths make it easy to understand why it remains such a familiar choice for shoppers who want a practical sedan without giving up modern equipment.
There are a couple of drawbacks to keep in mind. The engine is noted as noisy, and the voice assistant can be finicky. Even so, the 2025 Toyota Camry’s combination of efficiency, updated tech, and no major deal-breaking flaws gives it a clear identity as a sensible, well-rounded sedan.

Good value for a new car considering used prices are a bit crazy right now. Ride is smooth , absorbs bumps and harsh roads are not a problem for this car. I average about 60 miles to and from work everyday and so far I average 52 mpg, most of it is highway miles too. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone.

Bought a 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid yesterday and it seems like a great car. I really like the idea that I can recharge the electric battery just by breaking and letting off of the accelerator. It has a lot of room and it was comparably priced with the Corolla.

Prices have softened 5.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 9,716 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for a used-car search. If you find a listing below $27,655.21, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry a good car?
Yes — 4.89/5 owners rate it, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, and spacious interior. They also value its strong pricing relative to the used-car market. On the downside, some owners mention missing features such as power folding mirrors and parking sensors.
That lines up with the Camry’s role as a practical family sedan: you get efficiency, value, and everyday comfort rather than flash. The expert review also notes a noisy engine and a finicky voice assistant, so the trade-off is that some refinement and tech polish still lag the rest of the package.
With 32.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a car that feels smooth, efficient, and spacious, which usually matters most when you plan to keep a sedan for years.
The expert review reinforces that dependability angle by describing the Camry as a sensible, well-rounded sedan with no major deal-breaking flaws. Toyota’s hybrid system is designed to operate in the background, and the braking feel is described as normal and easy to live with, which supports a low-stress ownership experience.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about a glaring reliability red flag and more about making sure the specific car was maintained well and still feels tight, quiet, and complete.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear. Focus on condition details that matter in daily use, including interior wear, electronics, and how smoothly the hybrid system and driver-assistance features operate.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LE trim gets 16-inch alloy wheels and fabric seating surfaces, while SE adds black 18-inch wheels and SofTex synthetic leather upholstery. XSE brings 19-inch wheels, perforated leather seats, and more upscale sport styling, so base-trim shoppers should expect a simpler cabin and fewer visual upgrades.
- Powertrain: Every Camry is hybrid-only, using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors. Front-wheel-drive models make 225 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive models make 232 horsepower, and Toyota estimates 51 mpg combined for FWD and 50 mpg combined for AWD.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. The Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, a panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
- Infotainment: Standard equipment includes an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, five USB ports, and two-phone Bluetooth connectivity. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver display, while XLE and XSE can add a 10-inch head-up display and a nine-speaker JBL system.
- Fuel efficiency: Toyota estimates 51 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models and 50 mpg combined for all-wheel-drive models.
Which 2025 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the value play if you want the Camry’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get standard LED headlights and daytime running lights, the 8-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the standard safety suite, but the cabin is the simplest of the group.
- SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale and sportier look without jumping all the way to the top end. You get black 18-inch wheels, SofTex upholstery, and the same hybrid efficiency and standard safety equipment as the LE.
- XLE: Choose this if you want a more comfort-focused, upscale feel. It adds the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and digital gauge cluster, and it can be paired with available premium tech and convenience features.
- XSE: This is the most premium-looking and most expressive trim, with 19-inch wheels, perforated leather seats, and sportier exterior details. It suits you best if you want the fullest feature set and the most distinctive appearance.
The standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite is included across the lineup, while the Premium Plus Package is reserved for XLE and XSE.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
The market looks moderate and selective, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,716 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,655.21, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $29,294 sits slightly below last year's $31,103.
That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also suggests the market has already adjusted downward from a year ago. For a future seller, that means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car presents against newer inventory.
The Camry’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time, especially because shoppers in this segment tend to value reliability, efficiency, and low-stress ownership. If you keep the car clean, well maintained, and accident-free, it should remain appealing to used buyers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry safe?
It earns a Top Safety Pick award from IIHS, and it also scored well in frontal crash and rollover resistance tests from NHTSA.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. If you want more help in tight spaces, the available Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, and a panoramic view monitor.
The main caveat is that the vehicle was too new at the time of testing to have completed full independent crash testing, so you are leaning on Toyota’s safety tech and the brand’s track record rather than a full fresh test record.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It debuts a new hybrid-only powertrain, updated styling, and more standard tech.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds a sporty Nightshade Edition trim and a new Dark Cosmos paint color.
The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign and the strongest mix of efficiency, safety, and value, the 2025 is the better default choice. If you are price-sensitive and mainly want a dependable, fuel-efficient sedan, a well-priced 2024 or a lightly used 2025 can still make a lot of sense, but the 2025 gives you the cleaner starting point for this generation.
