How much does the 2025 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 1.96% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,229 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y a good car?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y stands out as a compact luxury crossover that blends strong practicality with Tesla’s familiar minimalist approach. It is based on the Tesla Model 3 and shares 70% to 75% of its parts, but its taller body, coupe-like SUV shape, and rear hatch give it more space and versatility. That packaging helps explain why it became one of the best-selling vehicles in the world, and why it appeals to you if you want an EV with a roomy cargo area and a long driving range.

For 2025, the Model Y received its biggest update in the form of the “Juniper” refresh, which brought a new front end, new bumper, tailgate, and tail lights, along with front and rear light bars and a more modern appearance. Tesla also retuned the suspension, improved aerodynamics, added more sound-deadening, and upgraded the interior materials. Standard equipment remained generous, with heated seats in front and rear, ambient lighting, an updated audio system with more speakers, Autopilot, and a panoramic glass roof.

The 2025 Tesla Model Y is also appealing because it keeps the brand’s strengths front and center: quick acceleration, lots of standard features, and EV-friendly utility. At the same time, it still has some familiar drawbacks, including a firm ride, the lack of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a cabin where almost all controls run through the touchscreen. For buyers who value range, cargo space, and a distinctive design, it remains a compelling used EV choice.

Deal availability: 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y reliable?

For long-term ownership, you should plan for a used EV experience where condition, software behavior, and prior care matter more than traditional engine wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report to confirm the car’s accident record and ownership trail, then prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, wheels, glass, and interior electronics. Because so much of the driving experience depends on the touchscreen and related systems, make sure every major function works as expected and that the cabin shows normal wear for the mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,229 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.96% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 83.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,528, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $39,263 sits slightly above last year's $38,507.

That modest increase suggests the 2025 Model Y is holding value reasonably well in the used market. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a decent chance of preserving a meaningful share of your purchase price later.

The current pricing also suggests that buyers still see value in the Model Y’s mix of range, utility, and standard equipment. For a future seller, that can help support demand, especially if your car has clean history and desirable equipment.

Should I buy a 2025 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.96% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want the refreshed look, strong standard equipment, and a used EV with broad appeal. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may give you a lower entry price, but the 2025 makes sense when you want the updated design and are willing to pay a bit more for it.
