How much does the 2025 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 1,277 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y a good car?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y stands out for combining strong everyday utility with Tesla’s familiar electric-car formula. It was designed as a compact luxury crossover, but its coupe-like SUV shape still delivers lots of space, helped by a rear hatch and generous cargo room with under-floor storage and a front trunk. Buyers also get a long list of standard equipment, including a 15-inch touchscreen that doubles as a gauge cluster, heated front and rear seats, reclining rear seats, a glass roof, four USB ports, video streaming capability, and Autopilot.

For 2025, the Model Y received its biggest update in the “Juniper” refresh, which brought an entirely new front end, new rear bumper, tailgate, and tail lights, along with front and rear light bars and a more modern appearance. Tesla also retuned the suspension and added improved aerodynamics, more sound-deadening, and upgraded interior materials to improve comfort and refinement. The refreshed model initially arrived as a Launch Edition with exclusive badging and vegan upholstery, and the updated lineup later included available ventilated front seats and a rear-seat entertainment screen.

The Model Y’s appeal is also tied to its performance and range, with the buying guide calling out impressive acceleration and a range that tops 300 miles. Even so, the lack of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the firm ride, and the touchscreen-heavy control layout are trade-offs you should weigh against the utility and standard equipment. With 25.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y reliable?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y stands out for combining strong everyday utility with Tesla’s familiar electric-car formula. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should expect a highly digital, EV-specific ownership experience, so condition and maintenance history matter more than traditional powertrain wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report so you can confirm accident status, title status, and any major repairs before you get too far into the process. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, tires, brakes, and suspension, since those are the areas where condition can matter most on a used EV. You should also focus on interior and exterior condition closely, especially if you want a refreshed 2025 model with the newer design and upgraded cabin materials.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings may still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,277 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,590, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $38,699 sits slightly above last year's $38,581.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed fairly stable, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. You are not looking at a model year with sharp price erosion, so a well-kept example should remain relatively easy to position competitively. If you buy smart and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should have a reasonable path to resale value retention.

Should I buy a 2025 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the most updated version of the Model Y’s design, comfort, and refinement, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may give you a lower entry price while still delivering the same core Tesla utility, so you should compare condition, mileage, and listing price closely before deciding.
