How much does the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid cost?

There are 559 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid earns an 7/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want a compact SUV that blends everyday comfort with all-weather confidence and real off-road ability. The trade-offs are that performance is fairly pedestrian and the ride can feel firm, so it’s not the best choice if you want something especially quick or plush.

The market also looks reasonably shopper-friendly, with 38.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid is presented as a well-sorted hybrid system that behaves much like the gas-only Forester, with smooth transitions between electric and engine power and consistent brake feel. It also comes across as durable and practical, with a cabin that uses harder materials in places likely to see heavy wear from daily use.

The expert write-up also points to a straightforward, confidence-inspiring setup rather than a complicated one, which is usually a plus when you’re thinking about long-term ownership. The hybrid system’s efficiency and the standard all-wheel drive setup add to its appeal if you plan to keep the vehicle for years and want something that can handle changing weather and rougher roads.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that a firmer-riding, more mechanically involved hybrid SUV can be more sensitive to wear if it has been driven hard or neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping for a higher-mileage example or one that has seen winter use, trail use, or frequent city driving. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the cabin and controls show signs of heavy use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The hybrid’s cabin gets a more modern feel from the large vertical touchscreen and digital instrument panel, and the top trim adds ventilation for the front seats plus heated outboard rear seats. The base setup still gives you the core Forester Hybrid experience, but the higher trim is the one that adds the most comfort and convenience.
• Powertrain: Every Forester Hybrid uses a 2.5-liter boxer engine with a hybrid system and standard all-wheel drive. Output is 194 horsepower, and the setup is tuned more for smooth, confident everyday driving and off-road traction than for quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight suite is standard, and it includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, rear automatic braking, and automatic high beams. A driver attention monitor is included on the top Touring trim.
• Infotainment: All Hybrid Foresters come with an 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot. The system also uses physical buttons for some climate functions, which can make it easier to live with day to day.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is estimated at up to 35 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined. The EPA also says owners can save $300 per year in fuel costs.

Which 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: Premium and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the value play if you want the hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and the core Forester Hybrid efficiency and capability without paying for the top-end extras. It gives you the essentials and is the trim most buyers should start with if they want the best balance of price and features.
• Touring: This is the better pick if you want the most comfort and convenience, since it adds the top-trim touches like ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, and a driver attention monitor. Choose this one if you plan to keep the SUV for long trips and want the most polished version of the hybrid.

Subaru’s EyeSight safety suite is standard across the lineup, while the driver attention monitor is reserved for the Touring trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 559 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,014, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $36,014 sits slightly below last year's $38,667.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the current average is already below last year’s level, a clean, well-kept example should hold up better than one with visible wear or a rough history. If you’re buying used, that makes documentation and condition especially important.

Is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid safe?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA evaluation except rollover protection, where it earns a four-star rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight suite is standard, and it includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, rear automatic braking, and automatic high beams. A driver attention monitor is included on the top Touring trim.

The safety story is especially strong here, but the rollover result is the one rating that sits below the rest of the NHTSA scores. Even so, the overall package is a major strength for this model year.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• The redesigned hybrid adds efficiency, more power, and a few extra features to Subaru’s rugged compact SUV.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Forester Hybrid with the strongest mix of efficiency, comfort, and off-road ability, the 2025 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can shop aggressively and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than stretching for a higher trim.
