How much does the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid cost?

There are 536 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid earns an expert rating of 7/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want a compact SUV that blends everyday comfort with all-weather confidence and off-road ability. The hybrid setup adds efficiency and more power, while the overall package stays practical and easy to live with.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and a firm ride quality, so you should not expect it to feel especially quick or plush.

With 36.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid is presented as a durable, everyday-friendly compact SUV with a hybrid system that behaves much like the gas model in normal driving. The cabin materials are described as durable in the rear seating area, which supports the idea that it’s built to handle regular family use.

Its hybrid powertrain is described as well-sorted, with smooth transitions between electric and gas power and consistent brake feel. That kind of behavior is a good sign for long-term livability because it suggests the system is designed to feel natural rather than finicky.

The cost-effectiveness data also points to meaningful fuel savings, with the hybrid expected to save owners money over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a more complex hybrid setup can be costlier to keep in top shape than a simpler non-hybrid SUV if maintenance is neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on overall condition, since the cabin is described as having a lot of hard plastic and the ride can feel firmer than expected on larger wheels.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The hybrid is eligible for a contrasting black roof, but just as with the standard Forester, it’s only offered on the top Touring trim. The top trim also adds front-seat ventilation and heated outboard rear seats, while the driver attention monitor is included on the top Touring trim.
• Powertrain: All Forester Hybrid models use a 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder boxer engine with a parallel hybrid system and two motor/generators. Combined output is 194 horsepower, and standard all-wheel drive is paired with a driveshaft-based setup that is intended to improve traction and consistency off-road.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight suite is standard, and it includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, rear automatic braking, and automatic high beams. The driver attention monitor is included on the top Touring trim.
• Infotainment: All Hybrid Foresters come with an 11.6-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen with built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot. The system also supports X-Mode off-road drive menus and multiple external camera views.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates up to 35 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 35 mpg combined. The data also says owners can expect to save $300 per year in fuel costs.

Which 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid is offered in 1 trim level: Touring.

Here's the short version:

The Touring is the only hybrid trim, so your decision is really whether the added equipment and top-trim comfort features are worth the price. It brings the most complete version of the hybrid Forester package, including the top-trim comfort and safety extras noted above.

Close attention to the Touring’s standard safety equipment is worthwhile, since the EyeSight suite is part of the core value proposition here.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 536 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,866, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $35,866 sits slightly below last year's $38,481.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you a better entry point than a year ago. If you buy at today’s average or below, you’re starting from a more favorable baseline than last year’s shopper.

For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale upside may be more limited unless the vehicle is especially clean, well-equipped, and lightly used. Strong condition and a desirable trim will matter more if you want to protect value later.

Is the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid safe?

The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA evaluation except rollover protection, where it earns a four-star rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight suite is standard, and it includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, rear automatic braking, and automatic high beams. A driver attention monitor is included on the top Touring trim.

The safety story is especially strong here, though the rollover result is the one rating that falls short of the others. In practice, the standard driver-assistance package and the strong expert safety score make this a reassuring choice for family use.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.80% compared with last year.
• The redesigned hybrid brings added efficiency, more power, and a few extra features to Subaru’s rugged compact SUV.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Forester Hybrid with the strongest mix of efficiency, comfort, and off-road ability, the 2025 is the one to target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025’s softened pricing and strong inventory make it a sensible place to start.
