Used 2025 Subaru Ascent for Sale nearAsheville, NC

How much does the 2025 Subaru Ascent cost?

Prices have softened 12.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,342 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2025 Subaru Ascent a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Ascent stands out as a family-focused three-row SUV with standard all-wheel drive, seven- or eight-passenger seating, and a spacious interior. It also brings up to 72.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the seatbacks folded, which makes it especially useful if you need room for people and gear.

The overview also points to a strong safety reputation, with the Ascent earning an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ every year it has been in production. For shoppers who want a practical SUV with broad everyday usefulness, the Ascent’s standard EyeSight driver assist technology, 260-horsepower turbocharged engine, and 5,000-pound towing capacity add to its appeal.

Its drawbacks are clear as well: fuel economy is described as unimpressive, the interior design is outdated, and the third row is cramped. Even so, 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Subaru Ascent reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Ascent has a strong safety reputation and a practical, family-first design, with standard all-wheel drive and a long record of top IIHS recognition. It also benefits from a refreshed interior and updated technology from the 2023 redesign, which helps it feel more current.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well enough to preserve its family-hauling usefulness over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Ascent?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the seller’s claims about ownership and maintenance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to use the third row regularly or need the SUV for towing and family travel. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and how well the cabin features and driver-assist systems work in real-world use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Ascent?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,342 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,101, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Ascent's resale value?

The current average of $36,101 sits slightly below last year's $41,233.

That price movement suggests the Ascent has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer resale environment than before. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your value better than the market trend alone would suggest. For resale, clean history and well-documented maintenance will matter a lot.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Ascent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.44% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $31,771, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $36,101 average.
• It offers standard all-wheel drive and strong safety credentials.

The bottom line:
The 2025 is the better pick if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a broad pool of listings to compare. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2024 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you the core Ascent strengths.
