Used 2025 RAM 2500 for Sale nearPrinceton, NJ

How much does the 2025 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 13.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,553 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and equipment.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious work capability with a surprising amount of luxury and refinement. The truck is built for demanding jobs, with impressive towing capability, strong off-road ability, and immense durability, while still feeling more polished than many rivals.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and the truck can get expensive fast. Even so, if you need a serious heavy-duty truck and want one that feels more upscale than purely utilitarian, this one fits that brief well.

32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is described as immensely durable, which matters if you plan to use it for hauling, towing, or other hard use. Its heavy-duty focus and strong powertrain lineup support that reputation, and the revised diesel setup adds to its appeal for buyers who want serious capability.

The truck’s long-term ownership risk is mostly tied to cost and complexity rather than a lack of toughness, so you should expect to budget carefully if you buy used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on wear items that can reveal hard use, and pay close attention to how the truck was equipped from the factory versus what was added later.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry Tradesman is the most basic version, while the Big Horn adds more everyday appeal. The Laramie brings the luxury features that really change the cabin experience, and the Limited Longhorn and Limited push further into upscale territory. The Power Wagon and Rebel are the off-road-focused choices, with the Power Wagon leaning hardest into trail capability.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. A heavily revised turbocharged 6.7-liter inline-six diesel is the big upgrade, and it now comes in High Output form with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: An optional Safety Group adds adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection. Additional packages can add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist, while park assist sensors are standard on all but the base Tradesman.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8.4 inches on the two lowest trims, while a 12-inch unit is standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie. The biggest available display is 14.4 inches, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster starts at Laramie.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel engine is the efficiency-oriented choice, but no MPG or MPGe figure is stated here.

Which 2025 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 2500 is offered in 7 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add the equipment you need. It can be optioned up with useful packages, but it is also the trim where the safety and convenience gaps are most noticeable.
• Big Horn: This is the better everyday choice if you want a step up from the base truck without jumping into luxury pricing. It benefits from the same broad capability while giving you a more appealing starting point for comfort and equipment.
• Power Wagon: This is the trim to choose if off-road ability is your priority. It comes with the 12-inch touchscreen, electronic locking front and rear differentials, and a disconnecting sway bar, making it the most trail-ready version in the lineup.
• Rebel: This is the better pick if you want off-road capability but still need to tow regularly. It keeps the rugged character while aiming for a more balanced mix of capability and everyday usefulness.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it’s where the luxury and technology upgrades really start to feel substantial. You get leather seating surfaces, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and the larger 12-inch touchscreen standard.
• Limited Longhorn: Choose this if you want the most distinctive upscale cabin theme, with its cowboy-inspired interior and premium materials.
• Limited: This is the top luxury choice, with open-pore wood, supple leather, and the most understated premium look in the lineup.

The Safety Group is the key trim-level safety note to keep in mind, since many active safety features are not standard on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,553 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,690, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $56,462 sits slightly below last year's $65,099.

That price drop suggests buyers have more leverage now than they did a year ago, which can help if you’re shopping used. For a future seller, it also means you should expect stronger depreciation pressure than you’d see in a tighter market.

The good news is that trucks with strong capability and broad appeal can still hold demand well, especially when they’re configured for towing or heavy use. Well-equipped examples should remain easier to move than stripped or unusually worn trucks.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2025 Ram 2500 earns a four-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a comprehensive package of modern safety technologies, but they are not standard across the board. An optional Safety Group can be added to Tradesman and Big Horn trucks and includes adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection; those features are standard on higher trim levels. Additional packages add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist, while park assist sensors are included on all but the base Tradesman.

Ram also offers camera technology through optional packages, including a surround-view camera system and a Cargo View Camera. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you should verify exactly which package a used truck has before you buy.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a heavily revised diesel engine with High Output output and a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a few noteworthy updates and an intriguing new pair of trim levels.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and the major 2025 powertrain update, the 2025 is the better primary target. If you’re mainly shopping for the newest updates and don’t mind waiting for a newer model year, the 2026 is worth a look. Price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2025, especially if they find a well-equipped truck near the low end of the range.
