Is the 2025 Nissan Z a good car?

The 2025 Nissan Z stands out because it blends a classic rear-wheel-drive sports car formula with modern performance and technology. It uses a powerful V6 engine up front, sends power to the rear wheels, and offers either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic.

That setup makes it appealing if you want a familiar enthusiast layout with modern infotainment, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The trim range also gives you flexibility, from a simpler sports-car setup to a more track-focused version.

The Z’s heritage styling and driver-focused cabin details add to its appeal if you value character as much as speed. 40.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Nissan Z reliable?

The 2025 Nissan Z stands out because it blends a classic rear-wheel-drive sports car formula with modern performance and technology. It uses a powerful V6 engine up front, sends power to the rear wheels, and offers either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic.

For used buyers, that means you’re shopping a car with a straightforward enthusiast mission rather than a complicated luxury setup. The main long-term ownership risk is that sports-car use can magnify wear, so condition and maintenance history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Z?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s maintenance and ownership records line up with the seller’s story. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified, tracked, or driven hard. Focus on tire wear, brake condition, and overall cosmetic and mechanical condition so you know whether the car has been treated like a weekend toy or a daily driver.

That suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently today. Well-kept examples with desirable trims and clean history should hold up better than rougher or heavily modified cars.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Z or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 40.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.76% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $42,613, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $42,459 average.
• It adds extra performance and a more track-capable NISMO setup.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a Heritage Edition with distinctive retro styling and stronger visual appeal.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around starting point if you want the current-year market balance of price, inventory, and clean listings. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2024 is worth a look only if you find a stronger deal or want its performance-focused updates. If style and special-edition appeal matter most, the 2026 is the better alternative.
