Used 2025 Nissan Altima for Sale nearNew Bern, NC

How much does the 2025 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 11.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,550 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

The Altima’s appeal centers on comfort, value, and an approachable cabin. It has terrific front seats, available all-wheel drive, and easy-to-use technology, which makes it a practical fit if you want a straightforward midsize sedan for commuting and everyday use.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the interior materials feel cheap. The technology is also described as outdated overall, even though higher trims can improve the experience.

Even so, the model’s 38.1% good-or-great deal share suggests you can still find competitive pricing in the market.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima’s reliability case is built around its simple, familiar mechanical setup and its focus on everyday usability. The engine and CVT are described as unremarkable but competent, and the car is quiet enough for daily driving. Nissan also includes three complimentary oil changes, which helps lower early ownership costs.

That said, the model’s long-term ownership risk is tied to its aging design and mixed expert assessment of durability-related value, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition when shopping used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a higher-mileage commuter role. Focus on interior condition, infotainment operation, and how the car drives at low speeds and on rough pavement, since those are the areas most likely to reveal wear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, SV Special Edition, SR, and SL trim levels. The SV Special Edition adds black wheels, a rear spoiler, and comfort and technology upgrades, while the SR brings 19-inch wheels, sport suspension, brake-induced torque vectoring, and sport-bolstered front seats. Base-trim cars miss some of the nicer cabin and tech upgrades, so compare equipment carefully.
• Powertrain: Every Altima uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a CVT. Front-wheel-drive models make 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, while AWD models make 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The AWD system is available if you want extra traction, but it costs more up front and can reduce efficiency.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SL trim adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, a surround-view camera system, and active blind-spot monitoring that can help steer you away from danger.
• Infotainment: The standard system has an 8-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. SV Special Edition and SL models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, NissanConnect services, navigation, and a conversational voice assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD models should get 28 mpg in combined driving, while non-AWD models should get 31-32 mpg.

Which 2025 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Altima is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SV Special Edition, SR, and SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Altima lineup and are comfortable with the basic equipment set.
• SV: This is the best-value trim because it keeps the Altima’s core comfort and value appeal while moving you up from the most basic setup.
• SV Special Edition: This is the trim to target if you want the most compelling mix of added style and upgraded comfort and technology, and it is the one we’d steer most shoppers toward.
• SR: Choose this if you want the sportier look and feel, including the firmer suspension, larger wheels, and sport seats.
• SL: This is the trim for you if you want the most advanced safety and tech content, including ProPilot Assist 1.0 and the larger infotainment system.

The SL trim is also the one with the best safety features available for the Altima.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,550 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,656, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $20,682 sits slightly below last year's $23,255.

That decline suggests the Altima is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2025 Nissan Altima earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, including a five-star rollover resistance rating. It gets a Poor rating in updated side impact protection and front crash prevention evaluations, and a Marginal rating in an updated moderate offset frontal-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SL trim adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, a surround-view camera system, and active blind-spot monitoring.

The main caveat is that the Altima’s IIHS results are weak in key updated tests, so you should weigh its standard safety equipment against those shortcomings.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan adds a value-packed SV Special Edition Package to the lineup.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $19,779, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $20,682 average.
• It offers attractive pricing and useful standard safety tech.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the current-year market data and the added SV Special Edition package, the 2025 is the cleaner pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2024 is the better value play as long as you find one in good condition.
