How much does the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE cost?

Prices have softened 9.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,586 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

With a 3/5 user rating and an expert score of 7.5/10, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE looks like a capable luxury SUV that fits families who want flexibility. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Its appeal comes from multiple body styles, multiple powertrain options, and a stylish interior, so you can tailor it to your needs more easily than many rivals. The trade-offs are that the styling can feel ungainly, it drives bigger than it looks, and outward visibility is poor.

That balance makes it a strong fit if you want a midsize luxury SUV with broad configuration choices and a premium cabin, even if it isn’t the most graceful to drive. 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE is positioned as a mainstream luxury SUV for families, and its powertrain lineup includes efficient and high-output options. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder uses a mild-hybrid system, while the six- and eight-cylinder models also add mild-hybrid assistance.

That setup supports smooth operation, and the plug-in hybrid adds electric driving capability for shorter trips. Mercedes also includes a four-year/50,000-mile new-vehicle warranty, which is in line with many luxury brands.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-complexity versions can bring more expensive repairs and maintenance as mileage climbs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific car’s equipment matches the listing, especially on higher-trim or option-heavy examples. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing because the GLE’s feature set can vary a lot by configuration. Focus on cabin condition, electronics, and any signs that the vehicle has been used heavily in city driving or tight spaces.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLE’s styling and cabin presentation vary by configuration, and the coupe body style creates more dramatic proportions than the standard SUV. Base versions are less lavish than higher-spec models, so check whether the features you want are actually included.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 2.0-liter turbo-four with mild-hybrid assistance, a 3.0-liter turbo inline-six with mild-hybrid assistance, a plug-in hybrid, a twin-turbo V8, and AMG performance models. Efficiency ranges from 23 mpg combined in the GLE 350 to 16 mpg combined in the AMG GLE 63 S, with the plug-in hybrid rated at 23 mpg combined and up to 50 miles of electric range.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with exit assist, crosswind assist, parking assist, a driver attention monitor, a 360-degree camera system, and Pre-Safe. Adaptive cruise control is part of the optional Driver Assistance Package, which also adds automatic speed-limit and curve adaptation, stop-and-go functionality, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, cross-traffic functionality for automatic emergency braking, and an expanded driver-monitoring system.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses two 12.3-inch screens, and MBUX includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus built-in navigation. The interface also supports voice control, which can help offset the many input methods.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLE 350 is rated at 23 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive and 22 mpg combined with AWD. The GLE 450e is rated at 23 mpg combined and up to 50 miles of electric range, while the AMG GLE 63 S is rated at 16 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 6 trim levels: GLE 350, GLE 450 4Matic, GLE 450e 4Matic, GLE 580 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 4Matic+, AMG GLE 63 S 4Matic+.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core GLE experience with the 2.0-liter turbo-four, mild-hybrid assistance, and the most accessible pricing. It’s the best-value choice if you want the GLE’s luxury feel without chasing extra power.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the sweet spot if you want a smoother and stronger six-cylinder setup. It adds more power and refinement, making it the most balanced pick for many shoppers.
• GLE 450e 4Matic: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid’s electric range and efficiency without moving all the way up to the V8 models. It’s the best fit if your driving includes short daily trips and you can charge regularly.
• GLE 580 4Matic: This is for you if you want V8 power in a luxury SUV and are willing to pay for it. It brings a more muscular character than the six-cylinder models.
• AMG GLE 53 4Matic+: Pick this if you want a performance-focused GLE with quicker acceleration and a more aggressive personality. It’s the step up for buyers who care more about speed than efficiency.
• AMG GLE 63 S 4Matic+: This is the top performance choice, with the most power and the most dramatic driving experience. It suits you if you want the most extreme version of the GLE lineup.

Adaptive cruise control remains part of the optional Driver Assistance Package, so check whether a used example has that package if you want the full safety-tech suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,586 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $62,034, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $62,034 sits slightly below last year's $68,565.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can help you negotiate more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means the GLE is currently sitting in a softer pricing environment than it was a year ago.

If prices stabilize, a well-kept example with desirable equipment should hold up better than a stripped or heavily used one. The strongest resale prospects will likely come from cleaner, better-equipped trims with broad appeal.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 2025 Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with exit assist, crosswind assist, parking assist, a driver attention monitor, a 360-degree camera system, and Pre-Safe. Adaptive cruise control is not standard; it’s part of the optional Driver Assistance Package, which also adds automatic speed-limit and curve adaptation, stop-and-go functionality, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, cross-traffic functionality for automatic emergency braking, and an expanded driver-monitoring system.

One caveat is that the GLE’s front-crash prevention tech received only “Marginal” and “Acceptable” ratings in standard and optional forms, respectively.

Should I buy a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.52% compared with last year.
• It adds new configurations and fresh paint choices without changing the core formula.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $57,035, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $62,034 average.
• It brings a facelift with an upgraded interior and infotainment system.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a standard AMG Line exterior on the six-cylinder GLE 450 and a new Manufaktur Edition.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the latest version of the GLE’s established formula and a broad range of configurations. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the newer styling and special-edition touches.
